Back For My Daughter

Chapter 357 - A Child's Heart Is Fragile As Glass

Yuan Meng and Ye Qian had been walking for 10 or so minutes and though it seemed quite slow for them.

But for the ordinary people, the distance that the two had walked was a lot and their speed was also comparatively much more than others.

But unknown to the two and even Ye Qian didn't notice that there was a lot of improvement in Yuan Meng's health and stamina.

Though Ye Qian didn't focus much, the speed at which he was walking was not like what an average man would walk at.

But still, Yuan Meng was able to catch his speed and that too with ease.

It was good that that path that the two had taken was didn't have many people and it was most likely an alley which Ye Qian was able to determine.

Since he had scanned the whole surrounding yesterday night after finishing off the criminal group.

No one would believe that just yesterday, at this market place a band of wicked criminals were here.

These were the same criminals of whom the news reporter was giving a lot of warning.

Ye Qian didn't think much about it since there was nothing bad that would happen later since the criminals were already dead.

And he had made sure that even in their upcoming lives they won't have a good life to live.

Yuan Meng had also finished the cotton candy as well as she held the remaining stick in her hand.

"Is the little girl there?"

While looking at the meat shop that Ye Qian was starting at Yuan Meng asked while putting the last bite in her mouth.

"Hmm."

Ye Qian nodded and the two walked to the shop.

"TING"

"Which meat do you want?"

As soon as Ye Qian pushed the door, the bell rang and the old man who had his head low while doing something asked.

He seemed to have thought of Ye Qian as a customer who was here to buy some meat and with his usual behaviour, the old man asked what the customer wanted to buy.

"Old man, I came here to bring Xiao Ya."

Ye Qian chuckled lightly and turned to Yuan Meng who was also smiling.

"Huh?"

The old man moved his head up and saw that it was Ye Qian and a bright smile appeared on his lips.

"Young man, so it is you!"

The old man exclaimed and continued.

"The little one has been waiting for you for a long time, every 20 minutes she would come to ask if you have arrived here or not."

The old man shook his head with a forced smile.

How could he tell that his little granddaughter had been budging him ever since morning?

If it weren't for the fact that she went to sleep just half an hour ago he might have already been forced to shut his shop down.

The little girl just won't let him even have some business and that was why he didn't look as energetic as he would always be and was not able to pay attention to Ye Qian when he entered the shop.

"Umm, that, didn't I tell her that I would come in the afternoon to pick her up?"

Ye Qian scratched the back of his head but he still had the cotton candies in his hand so was not able to.

"Give them to me."

Yuan Meng shook her head and took the candies from him.

"You must be the little girl's mother?"

"Hmm."

Yuan Meng nodded with a gentle smile.

The old man's attention was on Ye Qian so he didn't see Yuan Meng who was right behind him.

But after taking a glance at her, the old man knew that she was this young man's wife.

'They really look like made for each other.'

He wondered and turned to the young man beside him.

"Take care of the shop, I will get them to Xiao Ya."

Saying that he turned to Ye Qian and Yuan Meng.

"Let's go the little girl is sleeping after making me tired."

The old man laughed out aloud.

"Yes, uncle."

The young man nodded and sat at the counter while managing the customers.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian and Yuan Meng followed the old man on the floor above.

Ye Qian had seen that day Xiao Ya coming down from the stairs that day and knew that there might be some room above the shop.

Ye Qian and Yuan Meng went up and saw that there was a small room right above the shop.

The room seemed like it was to a small girl as it had a small bed and many toys.

"The little girl doesn't like staying at home, so she comes to the shop, so I had to make this small room for her."

Saying that the old man opened the door carefully as to not make any noise and walked in with light footsteps.

The old man had a pleased smile on his lips as he glanced at the still snoring Xiao Ya.

The little girl was sleeping with her thumb in her mouth and mumbling.

She had a small teddy bear close to her which she hugged as she snored.

"Grandpa when will uncle get here, Xiao Ya is bored?"

Hearing Xiao Ya's mumble, Yuan Meng turned to Ye Qian with her brow's high.

She wondered how the little girl was even waiting for Ye Qian even when she slept.

But after thinking for a moment she shook her head with a wry smile.

She knew how much Ye Qian cared for children so it was nothing special for the girl to be fond of him.

She smiled while looking at Ye Qian's back and didn't say anything.

Meanwhile, Ye Qian walked into the small room following the old man, Yuan Meng behind him.

Ye Qian sighed seeing the little girl's mumble.

He could feel the emotions surging in the little girl's heart.

A child's heart was even fragile than a piece of glass.
