Chapter 17 Deep in the Ruins

Entering this inverted pyramid-like ruin again, Li Wenyuan felt as if he had passed away.

Different from its futuristic exterior, the interior of the inverted pyramid is a limestone-like structure.

The breath of wind erosion lingers on the inner wall, where each piece of sand and stone is stacked, and the seams of splicing can also be seen.

At first glance, it looks very old, and it feels quite incompatible with science fiction architecture.

However, in fact, it will be discovered after hands-on that these things are really just limestone.

Synthetics can wipe off a little debris with just a touch.

The test report also shows that these stones are pure limestone, without any abnormalities.

But this is the most unusual thing.

Why does this kind of rocky inner wall appear in this apparently super-generational sci-fi building?

Li Wenyuan was puzzled, and could only hope that those aliens could decipher the secret here.

So he walked slowly at the end, not worried that the invisible synthetic man would be discovered.

Consistent with the appearance of the inverted pyramid, the space here becomes wider from bottom to top, and the buried secret is also at the top.

Walking through a spiral staircase, the upward space gradually becomes wider.

Soon, he reached the top floor.

This is the deepest part of the ruins, and it is also the place where Li Wenyuan has never been able to find out the problem.

The remaining four members of the small alien team gathered here, seeming to be discussing the situation here.

Li Wenyuan did not approach rashly, but heard their conversation with the super hearing of the synthetic man.

   "...Cowper, have you found anything?"

"I didn't observe it carefully when I was escaping. Now that I think about it, the posture of this ruin is actually somewhat similar to the records in my father's manuscript." Cowper turned out the old manuscript and pointed to a page to everyone So said.

If Li Wenyuan could see it, he would be surprised, because on that page, there is a pyramid!

Beside the pyramid, there is even a very familiar statue: the Sphinx.

You must know that these wonders can’t even be found on the earth now, so why did they appear in an alien’s manuscript?

Professor's eyes flashed, and he quickly pointed out his shortcomings:

"That's right. If you only look at the shape, the two ruins are similar but different existences like reflections. But you and I both know that a square pyramid is an extremely common shape in the universe."

"Even if it is a primitive civilization, they may have built buildings of similar shapes. We cannot confuse these two relics."

This sentence makes sense. The quadrangular pyramid is indeed a very common shape. Even if it is other alien civilizations, many of them will build buildings of similar shapes.

Cowper was silent for a while, and said helplessly:

"We have explored this ruin for so long, but found nothing, and encountered no danger."

"There are no carriers that can provide intuitive information here. This ruin feels like an empty shell to me. All the things that should exist inside are gone."

His words are also from Li Wenyuan's heart. This ruin was the emptiest ruin he had ever explored, and it really looked like there was nothing, not even danger.

This is extremely rare on this planet. Li Wenyuan has encountered the terrifying relic defense system more than once, but this relic is unremarkable.

"...But there is no way to wait like this, who knows if the black mist has dissipated."

"Assuming that this ruin is of the same type as the one your father explored, can you analyze anything?"

The young man who murdered the fat man was a little unwilling, and urged Cowper to say something.

And Cowper glanced at him, and finally decided to follow his train of thought.

“…my father’s manuscripts used a lot of code words and codes, and I haven’t been able to fully decipher them until now, and I can only get limited information.”

"He thinks that this quadrangular pyramid-shaped relic was used by that lost civilization... er, to bury the dead."

"Bury the dead?" The young man couldn't help asking:

"Are you kidding? Such a huge building is for burying the dead?"

"According to the information in the manuscript, this is indeed the case, but it may also be that my interpretation is not perfect." Cowper also added helplessly, after all, he does not believe that this kind of building only exists as a tomb.

The speaker has no intention, but the listener does.

Li Wenyuan, who was in hiding, showed a surprised expression. It is normal for these aliens not to know, but as a person on Earth, he knows that the pyramid exists as a mausoleum.

"Cooper, continue your speculation. Maybe we can unlock the secret here." The professor who was listening carefully frowned, and was also thinking hard, wanting to make a judgment based on more information.

Seeing this, Cowper continued to speak: "According to my father's speculation, the deepest part of the ruins should be the remains of some kind of creature. That creature should have made a great contribution to the entire civilization, so it was able to receive this kind of treatment. "

"However, his expedition team failed to enter the depths of the ruins. What they encountered there was not recorded in the manuscript, but it was obviously extremely dangerous from the results."

"This place seems to be the opposite of the 'Mausoleum Ruins'. We didn't encounter any danger, but we didn't get any information."

"If you speculate from the perspective of 'opposite', that ruin is for burying the dead, so maybe this ruin is...'resurrection of the dead'?"

His bold guess made everyone stunned for a moment, and then the young man laughed loudly: "Resurrection of the dead? It would be better if you discuss this kind of thing with those stupid idealists!"

Laughter still echoed in the space, but everyone ignored him, and frowned deeply in thought.

Seeing this, the young man stopped laughing, looked at the crowd in disbelief and said, "...you don't believe it, do you? Isn't this completely out of touch with reality?"

"...The resurrection of the dead is not an unrealistic idea. If you have read Professor Calles' latest paper, you know that a third-level civilization has almost completed the feat of resurrecting the dead."

"In fact, many idealistic civilizations have research in this area, and there were related papers in the last 'Scientific Exchange Conference'."

“Not only that, some materialistic civilizations and universal companies are also quietly researching related technologies. This is not a topic worth laughing at. Its impact on ethics is even part of what we have to think about.”

Cowper's explanation made the young man's face turn green and then pale, and finally he could only remain silent with an ugly expression.

Li Wenyuan, who was in hiding, also had a new idea because of what these aliens said.

But it's not about the "resurrection of the dead", it's about the "opposite".

“The pyramids are not just for burying the dead, they are also responsible for lifting the soul up to heaven…”

"...Then, did this inverted pyramid come here to guide 'something'?"

His eyes flickered, lost in thought.
