Chapter 1035: 102. Shadows in the Forest

Chapter 1035 One hundred and two

The shimmering team walked quietly in the quiet and empty jungle of monsters.

The light from the saplings pours into the body and relieves fatigue. People who once felt the maliciousness of the horror forest found that rejection was no longer there.

After a ten-minute walk like an outing, they arrived at a forest cabin under the map.

With no new footprints, and a cold fireplace, this wooded cottage has not yet been touched. And no surprises - they should be ahead of everyone.

The layout of each forest hut is different. This wooden hut has no deer head specimens, no bookshelves, and the only thing that adjusts the atmosphere is the window sill flower pot.

Ole Lorenzo dug out the soil from the door where the buds were growing and put it into the flowerpot.

Willett Marvin expands the Bizarre Jungle map. There are four wood huts left ahead.

"We should go." The companion said to Ole Lorenzo, who took out a handkerchief and wiped his palm, and followed Lu Li out of the wooden house.

Before they had left the forest hut too far, they saw the depths of the eastern forest emerging that swallowed the darkness and spreading rapidly.

They retreated to the wooden house, and came together in deep darkness. Completely shrouded the forest hut, only the dim light from the fluorite lamp on the table.

Night falls in the grotesque jungle.

  …

   crackling——

The warm fireplace rises and swaying shadows cast on the walls.

The dark jungle of monsters is no longer suitable for going out. The darkness and silence wrapped in nothingness seem like a cabin in the woods isolated from the world. Only the fire from the fireplace spilled out along the windows, indicating that they were not alone.

The hut shelters the people in the house. But it's not time to rest. They heard distant cries for help from the west, and faint fireflies glowed deep in the forest of horrors.

Someone was imprisoned in the sudden darkness.

Lu Li moved slightly and walked towards the door.

"Lord Lu Li, I'm with you." Willett Marvin stood up and said.

"Need not."

Lu Li stepped into the real darkness, facing the faint light in the distance.

This scene is engraved in everyone's heart. At this moment, the atmosphere, the back figure, is radiant, and even if time corrodes, it is still bright and will never be corroded.

Strange Forest did not dislike Lu Li's footsteps, nor did he express intimacy.

The dark-wrapped team came from a forest hut on another route, struggling to support. It's just that they were too far away, and when Lu Li arrived, all that was left was the scattered debris and the blood spilled on the putrefaction.

The flowers and plants burrowed out of the soil due to the arrival of the land, blooming beautifully and vividly.

Lu Li raised his head, the low-pressure shadows surged silently, as if the treetops had changed from a few hundred meters above the ground to a few meters above the ground.

If you pick up the stone and throw it at the top of your head at this time, there may be a sound of hitting something.

Lu Li returned to the distant forest hut with dim firelight.

  嘭——

Shortly after he left, a backpack fell from the sky.

  …

The return of    Lu Li dissipated the depressing atmosphere of the wooden house. At least not silent anymore.

Willett Marvin sat in the corner furthest from the fireplace. Get too close, and his armor will block the firelight.

Ole Lorenzo tended the sprouts on the windowsill. The cursing title of restraint stagnated the growth of the shoots.

Anders Stein of Giant Tree Academy and the other three distributed food, Willett Marvin and Root also got a share, only the four members of the noble council did not.

The noble council players didn't care, the three of them leaned against the corner, and there were whispers in the quiet wooden house.

"Do you know why the third level is arranged like this?"

"This is the second level, Locke." The companion replied.

"Okay, the second level." Locke glanced at Lu Li's back standing by the door: "To be honest, I don't understand..."

"I don't understand either, Locke. But I don't understand why you ask that."

"what?"

"It's easy to understand, isn't it? Our goal is to escape the monster jungle in a limited time, as long as we do that."

"What I want to say is not this, but... the meaning. Remember the first level? They hid the answer in the mystery, and then made us think as if they were giving us the philosophy of life."

The sound of breathing gradually faded. All that was left of the cabin was the crackling of wet wood in the fireplace and the chatter.

"The first level? I don't even know how to pass it."

"Well maybe I shouldn't ask you." Locke whispered to Ole Lorenzo by the window: "Ole, stop playing with your flowers."

"I do not know either."

The    conversation ended as Locke fell silent, but the ripples still reverberated in the minds of others.

If every level of the Tournament is stuffed into "meaning", what is the "meaning" of this level?

Does    have something to do with being the second level but being called the third level?

After a brief silence, the chatter sounded again, this time from the players of the Giant Tree Academy.

   "Locke... Locke..."

The conversation gradually faded away, but the gentle voice calling the name was still ringing, floating from the window: "Locke..."

A look of disbelief appeared, and Locke stood up and walked to the window. In the darkness dozens of meters away, I saw a woman in a long floral dress calling here.

   "Mrs. Judith..."

Locke whispered a name and slowly walked to the door.

Ole Lorenzo grabbed him by the window, indicating the third notice hanging on the wall.

【If anything appears to try to lure you out of the cabin, ignore it. Whether it's your deceased relatives or the temptation of power]

"I know, I just want to... take another look at her."

Locke stared deeply at the woman in the dark, and did not approach the door any more.

Over time, the calling women gradually faded and disappeared under Locke’s nostalgic gaze.

The silent and sad Locke returned to the corner, and the atmosphere of the wooden house became silent.

"Land from……"

The    call sounded again, this time it was Lu Li.

A delicate and beautiful elegant girl in a white dress stood in the distance and waved her hand gently.

Lu Li stared at her, confirming that he didn't recognize her—but she was indeed calling out to him.

Quietly watched the girl emerge with joy until she disappeared sadly, Lu Li retracted his gaze and saw his companion looking at him vaguely.

"Do you know what?" he asked with a frown.

"Anna... Mr. Lu Li, have you forgotten? That was your assistant and partner in the old days, the ghost girl Anna Bessie." Ole Lorenzo sighed.

No one does not know the tragic story of Lu Li and the ghost girl Anna.

Some kind of artistic work that is not malicious to the legend?

Lu Li asked them to tell their own stories.

Ole Lorenzo volunteered. As a writer from aristocratic background who also published literary and artistic works, he knows many stories of Lu Li.

The story in the cabin in the woods is slowly told:

From the old days to the weird times, the dark ages that are continuing. Caterina, Physius, Ophelia, Andrea—Lu Li remembered every companion that Ole Lorenzo told about.

Except for Anna who has been with him the longest in the story and has love.
