Chapter 1289: 227. Change

The moist sea breeze from the bay blew into the Onyx Lake camp.

The banyan tree guards on the edge of the camp swayed their branches in the wind.

Like a slanted circle drawn by a child on the beach, Potter, who still has the curse of the vortex god, finished his task of checking the border and moved slowly before the new rain fell.

The sea breeze blowing the weeds along the muddy road stopped Potter and looked up at the Onyx Lake in the center of the camp. No matter how many times he looked at it, he would be immersed in the majestic tree like the tree of the world.

The emerald green canopy above the giant tree covers the entire Agate Lake. When the weather is good, people will see the light shining into the trees, broken and elongated and sprinkled on the lake.

"We urgently need to build a road, urgent! I came back from the mysterious laboratory yesterday and nearly broke my leg! Not to mention those children who fell in the mud and wanted to go to the Onyx Lake to take a bath, if it wasn't for the rainy season, they could take a shower. They will definitely do it!"

The voice of Langer talking to himself came from behind him, Potter stopped, looking at the special clothes he had splashed with mud, showing the same feeling.

"Hey Potter, are you waiting for me?"

Langer's fatter face squeezed into his sight, and Potter resumed walking: "Just by the way. Where have you been?"

"The factory, remember the steam engine in the science lab? The scientists have stabilized this thing and are ready to put it on the train."

"steam train?"

Potter looked out at the empty railroad on the far horizon. Ampere had yet to set off. "So we don't need Ampere to pull the train anymore?"

Langer shrugged and limped beside Potter: "I heard that I still need it, but it can save Ampere some energy and food. Ampere is ten pounds of meat per ten kilometers, and the steam engine only needs coal. No businessman with a lot of this stuff is willing to bring it."

"Gossip! Didn't Meishan Town and us make an agreement with us to exchange resources for coal? Guess what, they continued to let us take the coal and give us the money back after they knew we couldn't use that much coal!"

Potter was stunned for a moment: "Mother of the Swamp agreed?"

"No, after all, she is a former princess of the kingdom. A stable and reliable ally is better than those shillings, no, weird currency is much more reliable, and this was negotiated by the exorcist at the beginning."

Langer's voice quivered with his foot higher and lower, Potter realized later that he was limping: "What's wrong with your leg?"

After speaking, Potter began to regret, because Langer continued to babble as if he didn't need to breathe: "Damn the rainy season! Yesterday I stepped on the slippery mud and fell and injured my ankle... I didn't say it just now. Now? Potter, we desperately need to build a road..."

The only remorseful Potter was forced to endure Langer's words until he returned to the vicinity of the schoolhouse, where children playing in the open space in front of the schoolhouse crowded up. They liked to play with Potter, who had the best temper and was willing to wield rubber-like limbs.

Langer said goodbye to Potter, got into the school building, and then Langer's uninterrupted voice echoed in the quiet corridor and the classroom where the professor's voice was heard.

"Hey Maggie, you should be graduating soon, right? Time flies..." Langer knocked on the door as he greeted the third group of exorcists passing by.

"come in."

A helpless answer came through the door.

Langer pushed open the door: "We need a way - hello Professor Tesla... Why are you here?"

"Professor Tesla is discussing putting the actual combat class on the back of the mountain," Triris replied.

"why?"

"Belfast can't play a role in actual combat. There is basically no weirdness there, unless these apprentice exorcists are brought into the fog of weirdness."

"Then let's go to the back of the mountain. I heard that there are ghouls harassing the mining area recently. Let them deal with it."

"So what do you have to do with me?" Tris stopped Langer's impending nagging.

"Good news for the science laboratory, they have stabilized the steam engine, can help Amber pull the car, and can restore many science and technology that requires a steam engine, such as what steam engine, cars..."

Tris and Tesla looked at each other: "It is indeed good news, but how did you bring this kind of news back, shouldn't it be a twisted believer?"

"I was hurt and they drove me back. We need a way..."

   So Langer repeated it again.

"Mr. Tesla, what do you think?" Tris asked.

"Roads can't be built in the rainy season. Now workers are renovating Belfast, and it won't be long before we move out of camp."

"Move out? But can't the camp still accommodate many residents?"

"We can't hide around Onyx Lake all the time...the whole of Belfast is ours and shouldn't be left to the monstrosities. The Twisted Gods can close the bay before the rainy season, when the monstrous fogs can't invade, Belfast will be as safe as camp and we will gradually get back to Belfast."

Tris and Langer were looking forward to this, and Tris, who didn't want to listen to Langer's words, chased him away and looked at the giant tree in the center of Onyx Lake outside the window: "Mr. Tesla, you said... Mr. Lu Li is really alive. ?"

"Do you have a better explanation for Annie's growth into a giant tree?"

  Tris shook his head.

  Tesla smiled: "Then that's it."

Lectures are about to start, Tesla leaves the office, and Tris soon leaves to find Haders.

Pushing open the damp and obscure wooden door, Tris saw Hades packing up.

"Mr. Haders, where are you going?"

"Uh... not going anywhere, just packing!"

Tris, the assistant professor, had no doubts and told Haders that it would be his turn in thirty minutes.

"I know, I know……"

Haders threw Tris out impatiently, took out the stacks of shillings hidden under the table and put them in the bag...

Forty minutes later, Tris, who was sitting in the office arranging the afternoon matters, was suddenly told that Hades was not coming to class. Recalling the suspicious behavior of Hades he had encountered earlier, Tris came to Hades' office, but it was already empty. no one.

  Where did Mr. Hades go?

Tris looked out the window blankly, and Ampere dragged the empty carriage from afar.

Haders huddled in the carriage, endured the bumps for hours, and walked out with legs that didn't seem to belong to him as he passed the Watch Town platform.

   "Mr. Haders..."

The Twisted Cultists guarding the town recognized Hades covered in soot.

"Don't worry about me... I'll check the gate to hell." Hades, who was carrying the burden, waved his hand, staggered to the blocked dilapidated tavern, and got into the basement.

"My darling, my shilling, I'm here to see you."

Confirming that no believers were following, Hades hummed softly and happily pushed open the heavy iron door in the basement.

The oil light shone into the space behind the door, revealing a figure emerging from the gate of hell.

After a brief sluggishness, Hades' roar echoed in the basement.

"God-killed exorcist, broke into my empty door again!"
