Chapter 731: 22. Weird Currency

   Chapter 731 Twenty-two. Weird Currency

The tavern fell into another kind of silence.

Next door came the creaking sound of the bed board flipping, and the hall downstairs resounded with the movement of tables and chairs, messy footsteps and the collision of wine glasses.

Katarina covered her mouth with a strip of cloth that she carried with her. It was just an ordinary linen cloth.

Its only use is to remind Katarina to "don't talk".

Katarina refused to pass the spare cloth strip to Lu Li. Lu Li has experienced the most terrifying period of silence, knows what to do, and still has the straw doll in his pocket to deal with silence.

It's just that he can't confirm whether the straw doll still works after 24 years.

Silence limits communication and what people can do. Katerina lay down on the creaking single bed and took a moment to rest.

Lu Li pulled out the wooden chair and sat in front of the window looking at the dark wilderness and the lava ring of fire in the distance.

Katarina woke up from time to time, and Lu Li's presence made it difficult for her to fall asleep. Sometimes she would lie on her side and admire Lu Li's side face. If the town was not enveloped in silence, she might ask why she kept looking outside.

Time passed, and Katarina, who was wearing leather armor, also fell into a light sleep. Until the clock in the tavern hall downstairs rang 10 times, and the morning came.

Katarina woke up to the sound of the bell and looked at the sky that was brighter than the night—

The   Magma Ring of Fire still hangs high above the dome, but it has become more distinct. The rock wall dormant in the dark becomes clear due to the increase in brightness, and the uneven rock wall and shadows exist in the sky full of three-dimensional and realism.

   seems real.

That's why Katarina says someone is crazy about the sky.

Church bells rang out over the town soon after, announcing the silence to leave.

Katerina took off the cloth and stuffed it back into the leather armor: "It's over."

"This is daytime?" Lu Li asked.

The brightness has not been improved, and it only maintains the dimness that can be seen.

"It's daytime, or dusk," Katerina said.

There is no morning in the weird age, it's only two hours.

   Dusk and late night.

From 10:00 to 15:00 is dusk, after that it is all night.

Before setting off, Mole took the initiative to come to the door, and he was still greedy for the strange currency of Luli. Of course, now that matte stone is on Katarina.

Mole's coveting makes Katarina think that the value of the weird currency is more than simple.

"Mole, let's be honest, what's the use of it?" Katerina threw the weird currency, and the thick dwarf Mole on the opposite side swayed with her dozen or so eyes, and explained absentmindedly: "Weird deals with neutrals and friendliness. They don't accept them. This is our currency. I'm an intelligence hunter, and this is a great opportunity to expand my business."

Katarina didn't quite believe it—she had never seen a mole so hungry for something.

"Just like that?" Katarina stopped throwing. "To be honest we might consider giving it to you."

Katerina thought the Mole would back down, but he craved the coin more than he thought: "That's what you said, Stinger."

Before Katarina returned, Mole said in a low voice, "If you encounter a weirdness that you can communicate with, you can exchange your life for weird currency."

"Why don't I know such a thing?" Katarina had never heard of it.

The mole's answer was simple: "Because you don't have weird currency."

Katarina didn't want to be ashamed, she was regretting, she was thinking about how to go back and leave the weird currency.

"Do you know the businessman?" Lu Li asked at this time, briefly describing the businessman.

"Businessman..." Mole rolled his eyes and thought. "I only know a few...and I can tell you all that you have to sell me the weird currency as a trade."

He saw that Katarina wanted to go back.

"Yes." Lu Li nodded in agreement.

Katerina wanted to stop it, but it was Lu Li's thing, not hers.

Mole recalled: "Go to the city and find out the kind of businessman you're talking about."

"This counts as intelligence?" Katarina tried to stop the deal.

Mole also realized this, his eyes trembled for a few seconds, and he handed Lu Li a piece of iron with determination: "This represents the friendship of the Earthlings... Take it to the Earthlings Chamber of Commerce, they know your problem."

   Katarina closed her mouth.

Apparently moles need weird money not simply because of its value.

Lu Li was not satisfied with the answer, but still picked up the iron piece and accepted the transaction.

"The Land Dweller Chamber of Commerce?"

Looking at the iron piece, it is not a badge, because the shape is irregular, and the outline of the iron pick is carved in the center.

"One of the largest merchant organizations in the Badlands." Katarina explained in a low voice, looking at the stout Mole: "I didn't expect you to be their member, congratulations on the mole."

The tone of    was envious, and he was no longer a little hunter who could ignore bullying at will.

"Just the outer members who are still practicing." Mole said, staring at the weird currency in Katarina's hand.

"Give it to him." Lu Li tilted his head and said.

"The transaction is quite pleasant, see you next time." Mole put away the strange currency, counted 230 shillings to Lu Li, and left the tavern with a backpack about the size of his body.

After the Mole had left, Katarina, annoyed, complained, "That coin is worth more."

"The merchant has a large amount of my money." Lu Li replied.

"...how much?" Katarina paused to complain.

"A lot." Lu Li could only say that.

Weird currency seems to be valuable, but it is worthless compared to the wealth of the merchants who are far away.

Provided that the merchant still exists.

and losing the Mole's trust if Katarina goes back.

Like Katerina said before, trust is important on the ground.

"It's time for us to go too."

Katerina fastened her leather armor, put away the route map, checked out and left the Wanderer Tavern.

Luli continued to observe the pedestrians on the street, although he would not stay on a figure for too long, it still caused trouble.

That is a profile that is different from ordinary people. The man's height is more than 2.5 meters, and he can touch the eaves by raising his arm. He didn't seem to like being watched, stared at Lu Li fiercely, and stepped closer.

A slender figure stood in front of Lu Li, and Katarina's eyes flashed with black light, threatening: "Don't make trouble, big man."

Body size is not the only measure of strength.

Hunters will not kill each other unless necessary, unless they can covertly and end the fight without taking any damage.

Injuries are linked to death for them.

The burly man stared at Katarina for a moment, then left without saying a word, the exposed lizard tail whipping the air irritably from side to side.

"Don't look at others casually, it's different from that time." Katarina, who was relaxed, reminded Lu Li. "You should be lucky to meet me, and of course I am also lucky."

Continuing to walk out of the town, Katarina said: "If it was another hunter who would kill you before they knew who you were. Then take your wealth and yourself."

When she said that, she also looked at Lu Li's body, obviously "itself" refers to another meaning.

   Like food.
