Chapter 733: 24. The migrating ghouls

Chapter 733 Twenty-four. Ghoul in Migration

A cloud of fog appeared ahead.

The strange fog that remains in the wild land is like a shoal of water revealed by the receding tide. They usually only emerge in the early morning and gradually dissipate over time.

The key is that there is no weird existence in the fog, it is safe enough, and the only danger is that it is easy to get lost.

Mist moor fragments are distributed in the low-lying places of the wilderness. They are like isolated islands, allowing Luli and Catalina sailing on the sea to advance along the isolated islands.

   "You've always been like this?"

As she walked into the mist again, the murmurs in the wilderness were blocked, and Katarina’s tense emotions relaxed.

Katerina once said that she rarely communicated with people, she did not lie. She kept her distance from strangers most of the time, trusting no one but herself. Lu Li is slightly different because of his legendary origin and pure-blooded human.

   "What has always been."

The fog is slowly dissipating, and the visibility is about ten meters.

"So silent, hardly speaking except asking questions."

"almost."

"You should try to change yourself and talk more." Katarina wanted to know the story before the weird times.

After a little thought, Lu Li accepted Katerina's suggestion: "Tell me about the current price."

Katarina was about to say something when an illusory figure appeared in the fog ahead.

A hazy woman hugged the little boy and sang a song softly to lull him to sleep.

"A shadow of an old age..."

Katerina couldn't help but lower her voice, with yearning for that time: "Recreate the scene that happened before the weird times like a mirage."

Presented to them is a woman coaxing the child to sleep.

Ballads floated out of her mouth.

"When you hear the song, close your eyes; when you see the shadow claw reaching out to the light, stomp it off; there are three knocks on the door, and say to the presence outside the door, please come in; the big stupid meatball approaches, ignore it; the beautiful song Float, close your eyes and listen; quietly listen to nursery rhymes, the child falls asleep..."

Sleepy little boy with joy on his face, drifting off to sleep to a sweet lullaby.

Lu Li and Katerina passed by the woman who belonged to the projection of the old era, she ignored them.

"How did later babies escape the silent hour ritual?"

Lu Li took the inquiry further and further away.

The doting gaze of the woman left the sleeping little boy, raised her head slightly, and looked at the back that was about to disappear into the depths of the fog.

"...that song, it puts the child to sleep."

Katerina said, singing softly with the emotions in her mind: "When you hear the song, close your eyes; when you see the shadow claw reaching out to the light, step it off; there are three knocks on the door..."

The songs that are not in tune are given emotion and become a little nice.

"Who wrote the ballad?" Being deprived of sensibility, reason surrounded Lu Li and asked.

He felt a strange power in the ballads - relaxing.

For children, it can make them fall asleep.

Katerina stopped singing and reminiscing: "I don't know."

In any case, people did find a way to continue offspring in the silent hours.

This fog is only the size of a square, and they have come to the edge during the conversation.

Silence shrouded the barren land again, accompanied by giant claws reaching out to the sky, and the tiny two walked on the dangerous wilderness.

After some distance, they hid in another fog.

Walking in the much thinner fog, Katerina returned to the topic she talked about before, and the price is now.

The price of the Weird Age stabilizes and is no longer inflated like the previous Weird Age: it returns to its original value.

But earning shillings becomes more difficult, the only sustainable source of income is in the wilderness, at the cost of life.

"Accept the commission, find minerals and hunt, patrol the safe area... in exchange for living." Katerina said.

She thought it would go on like this until the pollution was so bad that she sold herself, lavished on the money, and threw herself into death.

The arrival of    Lu Li changed all of this and made her see little hope. Maybe in exchange for a lot of money...or even becoming a resident,

Over time, the fog that sheltered them in the wilderness gradually dissipated, leaving Lu Li and Katarina exposed to the dark wilderness.

   Katarina is an excellent hunter.

   It's obvious: she's still alive, and a not-so-serious infection.

In the wilderness, excellence corresponds not to strength but to survivability. Survivability is related to many things, such as luck.

Katarina's luck is usually not too good, but not too bad either. Such people are more likely to survive—not die like the unlucky ones, or inexperienced like the lucky ones.

Near noon, the Lightstealer climbed high enough to reveal its pitch-black claws, taller than the world's Backbone Mountains to the north.

Twenty miles from the safety zone of Leviathan town.

Lu Li and Katarina hid behind a rock and peeped forward.

Everything in the flat wilderness is unobstructed. A few hundred meters ahead, a rustling queue crossed the wilderness.

"Trouble... it's the ghouls." Katarina lowered her voice, discerning what they were from the outline.

   "Ghouls?"

"A kind of undead monstrosity... more heinous than all xenomorphs. They prey on us, swarms, and have intelligence... Damn, we should have bypassed the ghoul lair!" Katarina scolded in a low voice.

   "Give me the map."

Katarina handed the map to Lu Li, and kept an eye on Lu Li while observing the ghouls in the distance.

Mole says the roadmap will help them avoid ghoul dens, but they still encounter ghouls...

Did they veer off course, or were the moles deceiving them, or were the ghouls hunting?

"They seem to be migrating." Lu Li said calmly.

   "Migration?"

"Look carefully, they are carrying things." Lu Liwang extended horizontally, and there were also queues urged by strong ghouls. "Do ghouls have the habit of migration?"

Katarina thought for a while, and her body suddenly trembled.

"What's wrong?"

Katerina suppressed her excitement: "We are going to make a fortune... This ghoul lair is being upgraded to a ghoul town, and they are migrating to find new homes!"

This news is enough to attract the attention of Leviathan town, enough to exchange for a large amount of shillings.

"Let's go quickly and bring the news to Leviathan town." Katerina whispered, then pulled Lu Li and started to retreat in the opposite direction.

The significance of Katarina's actions quickly emerged: the ghouls were growing in numbers of strong ghouls, mingled with giant silhouettes that were unrecognizable and bloated like houses.

The scattered scouts did not spare the surroundings, including the rocks where they had temporarily hid.

Hundreds of ghouls swarmed across the wilderness, and when the migrating team disappeared from sight, there were no more lone ghouls.

At the same time, the raised claws got closer to the sky.
