Demon Hunter and His Hut

Chapter 19: contact

An island in the distance is in sight.

A majestic figure appeared on the bow of the ship, wearing an ordinary work uniform on him, looking tight. He paced anxiously on the bow, looking in the direction of the island from time to time.

"Grig, you are too anxious, relax, this is just an ordinary task."

   A woman's voice came.

was talking about a middle-aged woman, she looked like she was about 40 years old, she had short golden hair, thin cheeks and looked very capable.

The weather and hard work of the years have left deep marks on her face, but her figure is well maintained. It can be seen that she was definitely a popular beauty when she was young.

"What if that guy runs away?"

The big man named Greg said gruffly.

He has a burly figure and a thick beard. His face alone will definitely make people think of thugs for the first time.

   "Relax, buddy."

"This is an isolated island, where can he go without a boat?"

"Can you fly with a pair of wings?"

Another voice came. This was an old man in his 50s with a flushed face.

"The only boat on the island was chopped to pieces in the previous storm. Since then, the guy has hardly left the island."

"But did you make a mistake?"

   asked the old man suspiciously.

"As far as I know, Kant is a good guy. Although he is withdrawn, he is actually a cold-hearted person."

"Working on the island for so many years, there has been no mistake, saying that such an honest guy will kill."

The old man shook his head.

   "I won't believe it."

"what do you know?!"

Greg said gruffly, "I have been a policeman for so many years and have seen too many vicious criminals. I tell you, it is often the honest people you think are the most hated perverts!"

"Those guys usually hide in the crowd, and only show their fangs at certain times!"

"Ha ha."

The old man gave a chuckle.

   "Come on, Greg."

"I watched you grow up, where did any perverted murderers happen in our bay town?"

"The last murder case dates back to three years."

Greg's face swelled, and he still forcefully defended, "I have touched many files in my work, and there are many records in it."

Then the two of you will say something to you, from Greg’s embarrassment to the town’s security, each talking about their own things, but they are too noisy.

But at this moment, the face of the helpless blond woman standing beside her changed suddenly.

   "Shut up!"

   "Look at it!"

She stretched out her hand, and the two quarrelling looked in the direction.

They were against the light, the hot sun shining on their eyes, but even so, the three of them could still clearly see the scorched black lighthouse standing on the island.

"Full speed ahead!"

The old man jumped into the wheelhouse and pushed the ship's speed to the limit.

At the same time, Roger took off the pendant hanging near the lighthouse. He put the pendant around his neck, carefully simulating his next various performances in his mind.

Looking at the fast approaching boat, he silently encouraged himself.

   "Roger, please start your show!"

Thinking about it again and again, Roger decided to try his best not to distort the facts too much. In the past few days, he hasn't arranged his appearance very much, so the whole person looks down and dirty.

After a bit of emotions, Roger pretended to be a survivor, stumbled and ran to the docked boat, screaming loudly as he ran:

"There is a boat! There is a boat!"

   "I'm saved, I'm finally saved!"

But at this moment, Roger saw a burly figure on the ship suddenly pulled out a pistol, and pointed the black hole at his chest.

   "Don't move!"

   "Stand in place!"

Roger looked dumbfounded, what about the rescue? What about the supply ship?

   What is this unfolding?

   "Put down the gun!"

"Look carefully, he is still a child!"

   A fierce female voice came.

Roger walked through the fame and saw a blonde woman leaping off the boat, wading towards him in strides along the shore.

The woman's beautiful face is a concern that can't be concealed. She opened her hands as much as possible to make herself look as safe as possible.

"Listen to me, children, we have no intentions."

She turned her head and pointed to the ship’s logo, “As you can see, this is a supply ship. My companion is too nervous, don’t worry.”

While she was talking, she gesticulated frantically, beckoning Greg to put away the gun in her hand.

slowly approached Roger, "My name is Andrine, how about you?"

A trace of doubt flashed in Roger's eyes, and a vigilance suddenly rose in his heart, because the woman in front of him and the man on the ship behaved a little strangely, and they really didn't look like the crew on the ship.

But he still replied according to the pre-set lines: "Me?"

"I only remember my name is Roger, and the rest... I can't remember anything."

While talking, he held his head and put on a painful look.

   "A victim?"

Andrin quietly breathed a sigh of relief, and then continued to ask, "Are you alone on the island?"

"Where is the weather surveyor at the lighthouse?"

   "You mean Kant?"

There was a panic on Roger's face, "He saved me, but later... Later, it caught fire, a big fire!"

"I dare not come near there, I never saw him again!"

A cry was squeezed out of his throat, and Roger swears that he has already exerted his acting skills to the limit at this time.

   "Quick, Greg!"

Andrin waved her hands frantically. Hearing her order, Greg jumped off the boat and washed ashore, then ran to the lighthouse quickly.

Andrin had a gentle face, "Don't worry, Roger, you are saved, and you can follow our boat back to town in a while. I think it won’t be long before you can return home and be in the arms of your parents."

At this point, a trace of unnaturalness flashed across her face, and she quickly returned to normal.

It didn't take long for Greg to run back.

  He has a serious face.

"A charred body was found, it should be Kant, **** it, did this guy commit suicide by arson?"

Greg clenched his fists, caught a murderer and found a murderer's corpse, whether it was a reward for meritorious service or spreading it out, the effect was completely different.

"Hey, boy, you have been with that Kant, have you found anything?"

Roger shrank back with a look of fear, and Andrine stepped forward to block Roger.

"Pay attention to your tone, he is a child, not your prisoner!"

Greg smiled awkwardly, "Well, I'm too nervous, I just think it's a bit strange. Judging from his performance in killing Nick, it doesn't seem to be suicidal..."

Seeing Andrin's sharp eyes, Greg seemed to understand something and silently closed his mouth.

There was a trace of surprise in Roger's eyes, standing behind Andrin.

"What did they find? It looks like they came to capture Kant."

The information in his mind was rearranged, and Roger thought about the next countermeasure.
