Chapter 446: Search

A second later, Charles's azure eyes suddenly froze and soon turned into pitch black. Not only his eyes, but his blonde hair also suddenly changed color and turned into greyish black!

Meanwhile, Bishop continued to recite the verse of the Rank-3 Light Purification spell for a few seconds but stopped.

At that moment, he felt a strange sense of urgency from the deepest part of his heart.

It was a forewarning!

Without any delay, he stopped his chanting, tossed the light whip away from his hand, and shouted while backing away.

"All of you! Get away from here-" But before he could finish those words, a strange fire ripple came out from Charles and pushed him away like a fly. The Light Knights, the foreign knights, and the nearby citizens were also caught off guard and tossed away.

Bishop soon crashed onto the ground and looked up.

At that moment, he saw two eerie blackish wings made of pure fire appear behind Charles, and he looked more like a Demon descended from the abyss itself!

In a second, he felt a suffocative feeling!

'W-What is that? Is this the demon form I heard from the letter?' He couldn't help but suck a cold breath.

On the other hand, Charles enveloped his body in a black flame and ascended from the ground without even flapping the black wings.

Once he reached a certain height, he looked at Bishop and other Light Knights with his cold gaze and spoke.

"Don't get in my way."

It was more like an order.

A second later, he released his full wisdom power, raised his hand, and snapped his fingers. The next instant, more than 80 blackish fireballs appeared above his head and formed into fire arrows. Even though they were just fire arrows, Bishop and the Light Knights felt a sense of loathing towards them.

'The black flame is full of wickedness and corruption.' At that moment, Bishop realized that this young Baron had already chosen his future path.

'It's not about saving him... I think it would be impossible to kill him from now on.' Although he didn't know the reason, Bishop felt this feeling from the depth of his heart.

While he was thinking deeply about what to do next, Charles curled his lips upward, showed a wicked grin on his face, and then spoke in an eerie voice.

"Let me show you the real power of a true Demon!"

A moment later, all those 80+ fire arrows suddenly moved upward and flew in different directions. Some moved towards the running foreign knights, a few moved towards the nearby houses, and the remaining fire arrows moved towards the town walls.

Before long, all those fire arrows landed on the foreign knights and directly enveloped their bodies in black flame!

Cries and shouts echoed from different parts of the town, but Bishop or the Light Knights couldn't move a muscle.

In a few seconds, the cries of foreign knights died down, and the town returned to an eerie silence.

On the other hand, Charles checked if any other foreign knights were still alive through his wisdom power and then shifted his attention towards Bishop and the Light Knights.

Then, he flapped his eerie black wings and flew upward towards the white clouds.

By the time Bishop Blake managed to stand up from the ground, Charles had long vanished from his eyes.

He stood there dumbly for a whole minute and finally remembered his original mission.

"Bishop Victor's words are true. Alas, I was a bit too late to realize his true face. Daniel indeed has the power to cause destruction." A bitter smile appeared on his face. Then, he turned his gaze towards the nearby Light Knight and spoke.

"Leonard, I've got a special job for you. Go back to the Light Kingdom and give a letter to a particular person. Also, tell the higher-ups that we are taking over the Grime Plains."

As he spoke, he turned around and started walking towards the mansion building.

...

At that moment, Charles hovered in the middle of the cloudy sky and calmly stared at the land filled with full of greenery.

Then, he turned his gaze towards the western direction, flapped his fallen angel's wings, and shot forward like a bullet.

His destination was, of course, the Light Kingdom!

But his goal was not to invade the Holy See but to learn more about the Light Kingdom.

'From now on, I'll become a rogue Evil Sorcerer and cause trouble all over the place.' In truth, he had more than 12 plans to destroy the Light kingdom. But his main goal was not to destroy but to get access to the Holy See's secret treasury first.

Unfortunately, it was not an easy matter. Charles learned from Duke Michael's memories that a special squad called 'Shadow Angels' guarding the treasury. Moreover, the Pontiff also started living near the secret treasury after the last thieving incident and overseeing the treasury like a hawk. Going there without even any backup plan would be the stupidest idea.

'In the end, what I lack most is information about this kingdom. Duke's memories won't be enough to achieve my goal. Moreover, I want to try something else.' He muttered to himself as he continued to fly for the next few hours and soon reached the territory of the Light Kingdom. Then, he chose a random direction, flapped his wings to fly forward, and soon appeared above a small town called 'Norwich.'

Although soldiers and the town residences started shouting as he appeared in the sky, he didn't mind their noise and searched for the Light Church. Soon, he saw a dome-shaped building on the eastern side of Norwich Town.

Without losing a second, he swam downward and landed on the roof of the building. Then, he stepped on the window and looked inside the building.

At that moment, he only saw a few nuns and tens of commoners in the chapel area and seemed to be praying.

After some thought, he kicked the glass window, broke it with brute force, and jumped inside.

Meanwhile, the commoners and nuns looked up at the dome area and soon froze as they saw him. But what made their whole body stiffen up was not his sudden arrival but his outer appearance!

Currently, he looked more like a fallen angel!

But before they could even kneel and pray, Charles landed on the altar table, waved his hand, and let the eerie wings disappear.

After that, he shifted his attention towards a particular nun and scanned her.

The nun appeared to be in her mid-thirties, had azure eyes and a square face. She wore a black habit and completely covered her head.

After a short pause, Charles jumped down from the table and started walking towards her. But before he could utter a word, she bowed and stepped back.

'Who is he?' She thought.

The nun was trembling and asked in a scared voice.

"Who are you?"

Meanwhile, Charles arrived before her, sized her up and down, and spoke.

"I want to know where the awaken stones are."
