Harry Potter and the Legend of the Temple

Chapter 12 The Ghosts of Hogwarts

"Gryffindor!"

The Sorting Hat's shouts resounded throughout the dining room, and the Gryffindor table once again erupted into earth-shattering cheers.

Harry and Ron clapped excitedly, Ginny's face was even more happy, and brothers Fred and George even stood up from their chairs and whistled.

Louis, on the other hand, looked confused. He didn't expect that he was sorted into Gryffindor in a daze.

"Congratulations, Louis!" Harry and Ron said when Louis came down from the stage. Everyone shook hands with him in a friendly way. Ginny even gave him a bear hug and threw herself on Louis excitedly.

After everyone was seated, the sorting ceremony continued, and several more students were sorted into Hufflepuff. When the last Luna came on stage, Professor McGonagall put away the parchment in her hand.

"Ravenclaw!"

The Sorting Hat said loudly not long after it touched Luna's head.

The sorting ceremony also came to an end with the cheers of several Ravenclaws, and Luna jumped towards the Ravenclaw table.

"It scared me to death, Louis, I thought you would be sorted into Slytherin." Ginny whispered as she sat next to Louis.

"Louis will not be sorted into Slytherin." Ron tapped his golden fork on the opposite side. "Slytherin will only accept pure-blood wizards."

"I know that, but why is the Sorting Hat returned?"

"Maybe the Sorting Hat made a mistake." Ron shrugged, "After all, it has served for so many years."

"The Sorting Hat is never wrong, Ron." Hermione turned around and scolded in a low voice, "I read in "Hogwarts: A History" that the Sorting Hat is one of the four founders of Hogwarts. Created by magic."

"Then how do you explain this matter about Lewis?"

"I don't know, Ron."

Lewis watched Hermione and Ron bickering and smiled helplessly, but since he had been sorted into Gryffindor, he shouldn't think about it so much.

The most important thing now, where is the food for the dinner? Louis looked up and saw that there were only empty metal utensils on the entire long table. He had been taking the express train since the morning and was already so hungry that his chest touched his back.

Louis was not the only one to discover this, several new first-year students began to whisper, quite a bit complaining. On the other hand, those old students seemed relatively calm.

At this moment, the old man with a white beard sitting in the middle stood up. When he raised his hand to start speaking, the commotion below disappeared instantly, and the entire restaurant became eerily quiet.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, everyone, to start the new school year." He said, "Before the dinner begins, I would like to say a few words: Idiots, snivels, scum, screw!"

"thank you all!"

"What do you mean?" Louis didn't understand, he asked Fred beside him.

"Don't worry, Albus Dumbledore can be so crazy sometimes, but you can't deny that he is the greatest wizard in the world." Fred said, looking at Albus on the stage.

"Then, let the banquet begin." At the moment when Dumbledore came, a large amount of food suddenly appeared on the plate in front of Louis.

Even though Louis had seen the world, even though he had two lifetimes of experience in dealing with people, he was still shocked by the sight in front of him.

What is magic? This is real magic!

He picked up the food in front of him and stuffed it into his mouth, not caring about his image. He turned to look at Ginny aside, and saw that she was also moving left and right, and there was no trace of the Weasley style.

The only thing you can’t live up to is the delicious food.

Just as Louis was eating happily, and Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Harry kept chatting with him, a large number of ghosts appeared in the banquet hall. Sometimes they would suddenly appear at the dining table, scaring the unsuspecting freshmen. A jump.

"Hey, kids, how are you doing during the summer vacation?" Nick, the ghost from Gryffindor, greeted Harry and the others.

"Good evening, Nick." Harry seemed to notice that Nick looked a little haggard, "Have you been busy with other things lately?"

"Oh, don't mention it." Nick looked a little impatient, "I was so busy preparing for the 500th anniversary of my death that I didn't even go to welcome the new students."

Harry smiled in response. He still remembered that this time last year, he was given a big surprise by their ghosts before the sorting.

"Five hundred years? Nearly Headless Nick, it turns out you've been dead for so long." Ron teased.

"Call me Sir Nicholas." Nick corrected, "Five hundred years is nothing. Bloody Barrow and Lady Gray are both almost a thousand years old."

Louis pointed in the direction of the almost headless Nick, and he saw Slytherin's resident ghost Blood Man Barrow. He looked a little scary. If Louis hadn't known that Barrow was a contemporary of the Big Four, he would have Would you suspect that this bloody Barrow was actually a human being during his lifetime?

But when Louis looked in the direction of Slytherin, he caught a glimpse of Astoria secretly looking at him in his direction. After being discovered by Louis, she immediately looked elsewhere and pretended to follow the person next to her. People chat.

"However, the five-hundred-year anniversary of my death is on Halloween, in a big house. I would be honored if you could come, Harry, and of course I would also welcome Mr. Weasley and Miss Granger and other characters." Llanffindor student." Nick looked at Harry with a hint of expectation.

"The 500th Death Anniversary Party, that must be great." Before Harry could speak, Louis on the side said hurriedly, with a little excitement in his tone, "I can go, Sir Nicholas, of course Harry. I’ll go too.”

"That's right...yes." Harry, who was led by Louis to talk, seemed a little hesitant, but still agreed.

"Hahaha, great, my good friend, Harry Potter is coming to my death anniversary party." Nearly headless Nick floated in the air for a while, "The party will not disappoint you, Harry and this ."

"Louis, Louis Wiggins."

"Okay, Mr. Wiggins, I'll go and do my work first, you continue." Nick bowed like a gentleman, passed through the wall, and disappeared from everyone's eyes.

"Are you crazy, Harry, Louis?" Ron leaned closer and said, "Why would you go to such a gathering of ghosts, and why would anyone want to commemorate the day of their own death?"

"I thought it was quite interesting," said Hermione. "I bet not many living people have attended such a party."

"I support Hermione's idea." Louis stuffed a piece of chicken into his mouth, turned to Ginny and said, "Ginny, what do you say?"

"You and Harry go, and I'll go." Facing Louis, Ginny didn't seem so reserved even when Harry was there.

"Okay." Ron cut the ham on the plate with some anger, "In that case, I want to see what Nick is up to."
