Hogwarts: Wizards Supreme

Chapter 26 Invitation

"Minister of Magic Fudge paid a cordial visit to Gringotts? If you ask me, those greedy and cunning goblins should be captured and burned to death..."

"A colony of trolls was discovered in the south? I really don't understand how such a trivial matter can be published in the Daily Prophet? If someone ate a troll, it would probably qualify..."

"The Auror captured a dark wizard who secretly experimented on Muggles? Oh, this dark wizard is so stupid? There are as many Muggles as mice. The Aurors can find out if they arrest a few people. He must have destroyed the world in his previous life. Squib..."

"..."

Brian ate breakfast quietly, listening to Malfoy slowly commenting on today's Daily Prophet.

He was always so energetic, and his words were full of absurd and whimsical thoughts. Although some of his thoughts were slightly dark, they also made Brian feel relaxed.

A strange owl with two fiery red feathers on its head flew over. It threw a note to Brian, glanced at him with arrogance and disgust, and then flew away very quickly.

Its speed is much faster than that of an owl, or in other words, it is definitely not the speed that an owl should have.

Brian unfolded the note with confusion, and then fell silent.

"Mr. Foley, do you have time to come over and have dinner with me at seven tonight? I hope you know where my office is."

"PS: I like sizzling honey candies."

"Dumbledore."

Brian pinched the note and frowned.

He just did something bad last night, and now he couldn't help but have some random thoughts.

Did he reveal something?

"Did I guess wrong? Dumbledore has been paying attention to Quirrell personally?" Brian thought so.

But he didn't think so.

Obviously, Dumbledore only needs to master the Sorcerer's Stone to choke Voldemort's lifeline.

If Dumbledore pays too much attention to Quirrell, or if he uses any magic against him, once Voldemort discovers it and alerts him, it is easy for him to change his actions from light to dark, or even give up the Philosopher's Stone, and then lose control.

You know, even though the Dark Lord has damaged his brain, his level of strength and knowledge are well deserved. Even if he is weak at this time, he may not have any weird abilities and knowledge.

"Dumbledore doesn't need to take this risk." Brian closed his eyes. "He only needs to master the Sorcerer's Stone, and everything is under his control."

"We can also speculate based on the original work. He only asked Snape to pay attention to Quirrell, and did not interfere with Quirrell's various behaviors. Even the actions of Harry and the three under the trap door at the end should not be under his control. As expected, there were too many surprises in that incident.”

"Because according to Dumbledore's arrangement, Voldemort will never get the Philosopher's Stone in his lifetime. He will never be able to pass the Mirror of Erised."

"Since he can't pull any tricks, there's no need to supervise everything personally. Just wait until the end to close the net."

It was with this consideration in mind that Brian dared to take the risk of contacting Quirrell and try to get some benefits from it.

So what does Dumbledore mean?

Just simply invite him to dinner? Only a fool thinks so.

Why didn't he invite Malfoy?

"Forget it, let's adapt accordingly when the time comes." Brian's eyes darkened.

It's a blessing, not a curse, but it's a curse that cannot be avoided.

Of course, he could pick himself clean just in case.

The usual contact with Quirrell and the potions provided to him can be regarded as normal interactions between teachers and students.

Brian could also say that he was bewitched and threatened by his behavior in the Forbidden Forest last night.

Those Death Eaters who had escaped justice, including his father, set a good example for him, didn't they?

But this is only the worst case scenario. In fact, as long as Quirrell is not caught and interrogated, Brian will be fine.

"If it doesn't work, we have no choice but to cut off the relationship with Quirrell."

Brian clutched the note and rubbed his eyebrows.

"Brian, what's wrong with you? Your expression hasn't been right since you received the note." Malfoy poked his head over and asked. His gray eyes were full of seriousness and hidden concern.

"It's nothing, just a little troubled." Brian shook his head.

"What happened?" Malfoy obviously didn't know when to stop, and he looked like he was asking the question.

"The bad thing I did may have been discovered by the professor, and he wants to talk to me." Brian smiled.

"Could it be that Professor Snape found out about your attempt to hatch the silver snake egg?" Malfoy asked in a low voice.

"Ah, almost." Brian sighed.

"...Wish you good luck." Malfoy patted Brian on the shoulder and gave him a proud look.

"Don't worry, your father is a member of the board of directors of Hogwarts, and Professor Snape will not expel you." Malfoy reluctantly comforted him.

"Okay, I understand." Brian didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

This day's course seemed extremely long. Dumbledore's invitation always stuck in Brian's mind and made him unhappy.

After the afternoon classes ended, Brian did some homework in the common room. He waited until the time was almost up, then packed up his things and headed to Dumbledore's office.

Brian walked up the marble stairs to the eighth floor of the castle, and stopped in front of a huge, ugly stone monster.

"Password." The stone monster said in a low voice.

"Sizzling honey candy." Brian said to it.

The stone monster jumped aside, revealing a wall that was split in half behind it. Behind the wall was a spiral staircase that was slowly moving upward.

Brian stepped onto the stairs, the walls closing in behind him. The spiral staircase took him up slowly, making him feel dizzy.

At the end of the stairs, there was a shiny oak door. Brian walked out of the stairs, pulled the griffin-shaped brass door knocker, and knocked.

The door opened quietly, revealing a spacious circular room inside.

Dumbledore was wearing a purple robe and was standing in front of a long table with slender legs, playing with strange silverware. They kept spinning, blowing out small puffs of smoke.

The walls were covered with portraits of the old principals. They all had their eyes closed and snored softly. But it was obvious that the eyelids of some old principals were fluttering slightly, their eyes rolling around in circles, and their skills at pretending to be asleep were terrible.

"Professor Dumbledore." Brian said politely.

Dumbledore looked at the time, and it was exactly seven o'clock. He smiled slightly at Brian and said, "Ah, you are very punctual, Brian, well, I guess I can call you that?"

"Of course, sir." Brian said cautiously. He considered Dumbledore's idea, because he had always called himself Mr. Foley before.

"I take the liberty of inviting you over to have dinner with an old man like me. It's probably quite boring?" Dumbledore stared at Brian with his light blue eyes for a while. Seeing his serious expression and meticulous behavior, he smiled and said, "No need. It’s restrained, but it’s really just a dinner.”

"You can understand it as a lonely old man who wants to talk to someone." He said, inviting Brian to sit down at a table.

"What would you like to eat, Brian?"

"Honey steak and lemonade, thank you."

Dumbledore tapped the table with his strange-shaped wand, and a large table of steak, roast chicken, desserts and lemon honey water appeared on it out of thin air.

Brian took another look at the wand. This should be the Elder Wand.

After just a glance, he looked away and saw the dirty Sorting Hat behind the table. It sat motionless on the shelf, but it made Brian want to take out his wand and cast a cleaning charm on it.

A sweet bird call woke him up, and a big golden-red bird appeared out of thin air on the gilded perch behind the door in a burst of firelight, tilting its head to look at him.

The familiar arrogance and disgust in its eyes, as well as the two familiar red feathers on its head, made Brian's eyes twitch.

"Oh, this is Fawkes, it's a phoenix." Dumbledore noticed that Brian was staring at Fawkes. He introduced in a relaxed tone, like a child showing off, "Phoenixes are really a strange and charming life. They can Great for carrying heavy objects, tears have healing properties and make exceptionally loyal pets."

"That owl..." Brian looked at Dumbledore with his calm black eyes.

"Yes, I made it look like that, but it obviously doesn't like it." Dumbledore winked mischievously and said, "Fox's appearance is too conspicuous. I think you don't want to be seen by everyone." focus on."

"Ah, when I was in need, I realized that I didn't even have an owl."

Dumbledore spread his hands and said in a relaxed tone.
