Hogwarts: Wizards Supreme

Chapter 58 The Forgetting Curse

"Gilderoy Lockhart is a fool!"

After the first Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Draco said angrily: "He has the same virtues as Potter, being pushy, narcissistic and arrogant."

In this class, they were first asked to fill out a three-page questionnaire with questions such as:

"What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?"

"What is Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?"

"When is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday?"

Such a question.

Draco held the questionnaire as if he had seen a big bowl of beef, and his face dropped in disgust.

Brian looked at the questions in his hand and found helplessly that he actually knew most of them.

In any case, although Lockhart is a liar, his books are indeed interesting and full of real events, and a lot of the knowledge in them is very useful. Brian read them all with gusto during the summer vacation.

He reluctantly answered two-thirds of them, and the remaining questions were made up. For example, Lockhart's ideal birthday gift, he wrote: plaster his mugshot all over the world.

Draco didn't even bother to open the book, so he scribbled down Brian's answers, and Brian saw that he had written "eliminate evil" instead of "eliminate evidence."

After taking back the test papers, Lockhart began to read large sections of his book to them. He also asked Goyle to play the role of a troll and demonstrate to everyone how he subdued the troll.

It is said that he brought a cage of Cornish elves to his Gryffindor lesson, and that they made Lockhart so miserable that he had to flee in panic. In this class, he obviously gave up on other things and turned to telling stories.

Goyle stood blankly in front of the podium. Lockhart stretched out his arm to hold his arm, showing an exaggerated movement. Goyle moved his arm, almost knocking Lockhart off his feet.

"I can't believe that the rest of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class this year will be like this?" Draco said in disbelief.

Daphne said with an expression of broken faith: "I was looking forward to his class, but who would have thought..."

"Daphne, this is great, he is very handsome!" Pansy looked at Lockhart with bright eyes, her cheeks flushed.

"Okay, if this is your criterion." Daphne hugged her shoulders and said.

After class was over, the little wizards left the classroom, and Brian stopped in front of Lockhart.

"Professor Lockhart." Brian smiled.

"Oh, do you want my autograph? Of course, I am willing to serve you." Lockhart took out a colorful quill from his robe and smiled, showing his dazzling white teeth.

"No, I'm Brian Foley. Dad told me about you." Brian said with a polite smile.

"Oh, it's him." Lockhart's smile fell. "He...how much did he tell you about me?"

"Everyone, Professor Lockhart," Brian said.

"Okay, now that you know everything, what do you want from me?" Lockhart said, rubbing his brows.

"That's right, I want to ask you about the Forgetting Curse." Brian said politely, "When I practice the Forgetting Curse, I always make slow progress and can't grasp the key..."

"Are you practicing this spell now?" Lockhart frowned and looked at him, "You are too young and don't have enough magic power."

"No, my magic power is enough." Brian said, "I want to know how to master it faster."

"Why should I tell you?" Lockhart piled up the books on the desk and said casually, "Don't tell me you will expose me."

"Of course not, but I can tell you something big about your future." Brian said calmly, "How about equal exchange?"

"About major events in my future?" Lockhart looked directly at him and said with a smile, "Will you know about my own affairs?"

"Of course, my father knows you, and I can naturally learn something from him." Brian kept smiling and looked at him with his black eyes.

Lockhart shook his body unnaturally and said impatiently: "Okay, you can use it first and let me see."

"Everything is forgotten." Brian pointed at the empty space with his wand, and a faint white light emitted from the tip of the wand.

"You must have never practiced with live animals." Lockhart said, "Find some animals to practice with first. It will be much better."

"Well, although your father is a bastard, he did help me settle a lot of things." He patted his head again, took out a book and said, "Take this, practice according to this."

Brian took this old book. The cover was a little damaged and it looked very old. The title was "Secret Notes of Oblivion".

"I learned the Forgetting Charm by myself from this book. I got it accidentally when I was traveling." Lockhart sighed and waved his hand impatiently, "I don't have the time to guide you. I still have Keep busy replying to fans, they are always so lovable.”

Brian's eyes flashed and he said softly: "Okay, thank you, Professor."

"Come on, return it to me after practice, and tell me what that stupid big thing is!" Lockhart said with a dark face.

"I can tell you one thing first, Professor Lockhart." Brian said, "The Defense Against the Dark Arts position at Hogwarts seems to be cursed. For many years, no professor has been able to hold this position. Stay longer than a year.”

"What's the meaning?"

"Every professor will be unable to continue teaching in the second year due to various misfortunes." Brian said softly, "It's okay to leave after one year, but there are many professors who suffered force majeure. For example, your predecessor ,he died."

Lockhart's cheeks turned pale, as if he were wearing a mask.

Brian bowed slightly in a very graceful manner, then turned and left the classroom. Lockhart ran towards the principal's office in a panic.

After a day of classes, Brian returned to the common room, sat on a soft armchair and finished his homework, and then came to the Room of Requirement again.

He opened the book that Lockhart gave him, which contained a very detailed record of a wizard's targeted research on the Forgetting Curse. The forgetting spell can not only erase a period of memory, but also create a false memory.

After Brian finished reading the book, he closed his eyes and thought for a while, then took out a white mouse and put it on the table.

"Everything is forgotten!"

A ray of white light erupted from the tip of Brian's wand. The white mouse, which was spinning around on the table in an attempt to escape, froze on the table and looked up at him stupidly.

"Is this a success or a failure?" Brian was a little confused.

With a wave of his wand, he transformed the chair on the other side into a somewhat sluggish cat. Apparently this transformation failed.

When the white mouse saw the cat, it started running around on the table in fear.

"Forget it!" Brian tried to make the white mouse think the cat was his friend.

The little white mouse once again stood dumbly on the table, but still looked a little panicked when he saw the cat.

"It seems like more practice is needed." Brian pursed his lips.

"Tom, I heard that the Defense Against the Dark Arts class has been cursed and that every professor cannot stay in this position for more than one year. Do you know about this?"

In the second Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Lockhart vowed that he would break the curse, patted his chest and promised that he would never be defeated by a small curse, feeling very proud in the adoring eyes of many little witches.

"Lockhart doesn't really think he can be an exception. With his half-assed skills, who gave him the courage?" Brian shook his head slightly, thinking to himself that Dumbledore was still very good at deceiving people. .

"I didn't know about this," Tom's handwriting read. "My Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at school has always been Professor Mellors."

"That's great. Now the professors in this subject change every year, and the result is that we learn nothing." Brian wrote in his diary.

Then, he closed the diary and frowned.

No matter how he guided him, Tom never mentioned anything about the secret room to him, and he didn't even show any intention of purifying the school.

"It seems that we have to change the method." Brian said thoughtfully.

"Brian, the silver snake has broken out of its shell!" Draco said excitedly one morning.

"Oh?" Brian also looked at the glass box in the corner with interest. It had been there for almost half a year.

The snow-white eggshell had been broken open, and a beautiful silver snake as thick as a little finger was swimming flexibly in the box. Its small red eyes were like two bright rubies, staring straight at him with its head tilted.

"Not bad." Brian nodded, took out his wand and said, "I'll try to tame it first."

"Everything is forgotten!"

These days, his level of forgetting spells has improved by leaps and bounds, and he has successfully made a white mouse think he is a cat. These days, it gets along well with Daphne's silly white cat, Daisy.

Brian created a fictional will for the silver snake to obey its master's orders, and asked it not to bite anyone unless someone wanted to harm it.

When Brian stopped the spell, he looked at the snake through the glass. It seemed a little dazed and tilted its head to look at him.

"Did it succeed?" Draco asked curiously.

"Actually, I don't know either." Brian blinked.
