Hogwarts: Wizards Supreme

Chapter 64 The Heir of Slytherin

Three days later, Brian stood in the secret room again.

Looking at the round platform with diamond-shaped grooves in front of him, Brian took out a bottle of immortality potion and poured it into the groove.

Speaking of immortality, the first thing he thought of was the potion of immortality.

The colorless and transparent potion flowed down the smooth inner wall of the groove, gathering into a small pool, and then bubbles emerged from the bottom. The potion gradually disappeared, as if it had seeped into the groove.

Brian watched this scene quietly. He was prepared to fail and felt very calm at this time.

The round platform gradually began to tremble, causing the entire secret room to tremble and shake the dust on the ceiling.

The round platform rotated and sank into the ground, and then a similar round platform floated up, holding a pair of glasses on it. The ancient stone wall behind it was also shaking. The line of snake inscriptions disappeared, and another line of different snake inscriptions emerged.

At the same time, above this line of words, the stone wall rippled like water, creating circles of ripples.

A square trace gradually appeared in the center of the ripples, and it became more and more obvious. Brian quickly identified it as an old metal picture frame with several silver snakes carved on it.

It gradually became prominent, and when everything calmed down, it was already covered by a painting.

The person in the painting is none other than Salazar Slytherin, who looks exactly like the statue outside. He wore a bright green hooded robe, hiding his eyes under the hood, only revealing his long white beard, and his dry hands folded on his chest.

"Ah, it was such a long sleep."

The portrait stretched and said in a hoarse voice.

"So, you are my heir?" The eyes in his hood seemed to be sizing up Brian, and he said softly, "You are younger than I thought."

"Mr. Slytherin?" Brian said softly.

"Yes, you should have seen the statue outside. Of course, I am just his portrait." Slytherin's portrait looked very patient.

"Hello, Mr. Slytherin. I am Brian Foley, a second-year student in Slytherin House." Brian bowed politely. This great pioneer deserves the highest respect.

"You're only in second grade. Are the levels of the wizarding world so high now?" the portrait sighed, "I can't pass my test casually. Immortality..."

"Actually, it was just an accident that I got the elixir of life." Brian said softly.

"No matter what, you are good enough, my heir." Slytherin in the portrait said with his hands crossed.

"Uh... I'm sorry, Mr. Slytherin, I don't think I can be considered your heir." Brian blinked and said with a shy smile.

"Oh?" Slytherin leaned back.

"I discovered this place accidentally, because of some chance." Brian explained softly, "I am not your heir, and I don't know Parselmouth."

Slytherin was silent for a long time, and the eyes under his hood seemed to be staring directly at him.

Just when Brian thought Slytherin was unhappy, the portrait let out a deep, hoarse laugh.

"Hahaha... This is definitely something that the main body never expected." The portrait said with a smile, and his voice became even hoarse.

"But I am just a portrait. Now that you have found the secret room and passed the test, you have been recognized. It is okay to call you the heir of Slytherin. In fact, I once thought that no one would crack this problem."

"I remember not long ago - ah, I have been here for so long that I have already forgotten the passage of time - a little guy also discovered this place..." Slytherin stroked his sparse beard, "What a pity. He failed this test."

"Didn't he achieve immortality to a certain extent?" Brian asked, "Horcruxes, don't they count as immortality?"

"You actually know him?" Slytherin said, "It seems that little guy has done a lot of things."

"In other words, it was because of him that I got here." Brian said softly.

"Well, okay, be wary of Horcruxes. I won't interfere with your choice." The portrait shook his head and said, "Horcruxes make his soul no longer complete. This obviously does not meet my requirements."

"I have been observing him, watching him release the basilisk to try to purify the school... This is something I did not expect. My original intention was to hope that the basilisk would take good care of this place."

"But the rumors from the outside world are like this. You left the secret room to wait for the heir to return and release the horror inside to purify the school." Brian said.

"Of course, it was all transmitted from the original body. There are various theories, but I didn't expect that this theory was passed down?" Slytherin said.

"Here are the things he has been studying. He left some things here as a thought in his later years. After all, this school embodies his efforts and sustenance."

"As for the things here, he actually didn't expect anyone to actually inherit them. In fact, they are useless in the eyes of most people."

"Leaving a castle model and a basilisk for future generations is already pretty good."

"As for purifying the school, he has already given up on it. Half of his feet have already stepped into the grave. What's the use of thinking about it? Time will verify everything that is right or wrong. I will not interfere with the choices of future generations."

The portrait's voice spoke hoarsely and slowly, like an old man telling an ancient story, and it also seemed quite eerie.

"That's you, sir," Brian said.

"No, I'm just a portrait." Slytherin in the portrait sighed, "What I know is what he taught me, and I know nothing else."

"Okay." Brian changed the subject, "You said there is something that Slytherin has been searching for. Has it appeared now?"

"It's not completely there, but it's enough for you to benefit from it." The portrait said, "There will always be rewards and tests after that. If you stop at any step, you will never get the real secret."

"You must know that most people are not qualified to inherit the things he studied during his lifetime. The requirements for wizards are very strict, and it is better to have less than to overdo it, otherwise it will only harm others and himself. Perhaps his purpose is more to seal them up."

"Okay, can you tell me what the snake writing on the wall means?" Brian frowned, and then said calmly. He is very curious about the things left by Slytherin, but he is not extremely thirsty for it. I am lucky to get it, but I am destined to lose it.

"Death to you." Slytherin said in a hoarse and low tone.

"Where is death...?" Brian pursed his lips.

"You need to find it yourself." The portrait said, "It is in this castle. It is a reward and a test."

"I don't know where it is, and he didn't tell me." The corner of his mouth raised, "Actually, you don't have to go out to find it. It might be better to just let it happen."

"Okay." Brian said helplessly. This made him even less motivated.

There's nothing stranger than finding death in an ancient, sprawling castle.

"You can make good use of this model." The portrait's skinny hand pointed to the castle model, "This was made by four people when Hogwarts was established. It was originally intended to guard against intruders. Ravenclaw played a role in it. vigorously."

"It is closely connected to the castle. If you are patient enough, you can find all the secret passages. Of course, it is difficult, even in this model, they are well hidden."

Brian set his sights on the Hogwarts model. The entire castle was condensed into a small model, which meant that it was complex enough to dazzle. He looked towards the eighth floor of the castle and managed to find the Room of Requirement there, it was really inconspicuous.

"Okay. So what are these glasses for?" Brian looked at another round platform. There was a pair of silver-framed round glasses on it. The huge lenses were enough to cover half of a person's face.

"Take it with you. It can help you isolate the magic of the basilisk's gaze." Slytherin said, "so that you will not be killed or petrified."

"That's a surprise," Brian laughed. He picked up the glasses with his gloved hand and saw that there was still a diamond-shaped groove underneath.

"By the way, Mr. Slytherin, can you speak Parseltongue?" Brian looked at Slytherin's portrait.

"Of course, but he only taught me some common expressions." The portrait said, "I can teach you that the heir of Slytherin should not be able to speak Parseltongue anyway."

"Thank you, Mr. Slytherin." Brian said politely and humbly. This way Tom's diary is really not of much use.

Next, Brian left the secret room, but from now on, his night practice location may have to be moved below the secret room.

"What an unexpected surprise." Brian looked at the glasses in his hand, "But we need to find an animal to test them first."

While he didn't think the Slytherin portrait would deceive him in such a matter, caution was always a good quality.

"Halloween is coming soon." Brian thought, "It's time to prepare for the first attack."

"This can verify a lot of things." His eyes darkened slightly.

"Where...will death be hiding?"
