I Became the Favorite of Big Bosses

Chapter 233: When have I ever wronged myself?

“It’s dangerous here, don’t go from here next time.”

In order to ensure that there are no traces of trails in the mountains, people involved in the pig farm have privately agreed that they cannot take the same path every time they go up or down the mountain, even if they take a longer detour.

Gu Chao didn't want Wei Lan to worry, so he nodded gently and said, "Okay."

Wei Lan also saw that Gu Chao would never take risks with her comfort, and everything he did was successful, so he was no longer afraid.

On the way home, Wei Lan tightly wrapped her arms around Gu Chao's neck and swung her legs back and forth. As she walked down the hillside, she would shout loudly, "Hurry up, faster."

Her laughter resounded through the forest, and sometimes there would be a faint echo when encountering the stone walls in the mountains. It was ethereal and graceful, causing the birds in the forest to chirp together.

Seeing her smiling happily, Gu Chao also raised the corners of her mouth slightly.

The afternoon sun shines into the forest through the mottled shadows of the trees.

Gu Chao ran quickly holding Wei Lan's hips with both hands.

The gentle breeze blew by, rolling up the pink bubbles and carrying them far away.

Back home, Granny Gu and Youlan had already had lunch, and there was still a bowl of rice, half a bowl of eggs and two sweet potatoes in the pot.

While Gu Chao was fetching water to wash up, Wei Lan had already picked up the food and brought it out.

Popped the eggs into a bowl with a spoon, mixed with the rice, and placed them on Gu Chao's seat. Wei Lan took a sweet potato, peeled it and ate it in small bites.

Gu Chao came in to see her eating sweet potatoes and gave himself the eggs and rice. He immediately frowned and reached out to grab the sweet potatoes from her hand.

Wei Lan leaned back and avoided his hand. She stared at Gu Chao fiercely with her round eyes, "When have I ever wronged myself? I just want to eat sweet potatoes today. Are you trying to fight against me?"

"Nanny..." Gu Chao subconsciously reached out to grab the sweet potato from her hand, but Wei Lan glared at her, and immediately retracted his hand, holding the bowl and eating honestly.

Wei Lan swallowed the sweet potato in his mouth, with a smile on his face and his chin raised high, as if he had won a battle.

Just as the elation had passed, Wei Lan started chirping again, "You haven't seen Brother Shao and Sister Han, have you? They are so cute! By the way, Brother Yang gave me half a basket of shrimps today, and you bought them again. Mutton, I'm thinking about cooking mutton soup at night, and raising the shrimps in water first, what do you think?" "It's all up to you."

Wei Lan immediately burst into laughter, her red lips curved like a crescent moon, "Well, the mutton is warm and dispels cold, strengthens the glands and replenishes qi, it's just right for Grandma and Youlan to eat!"

Wei Lan kept chattering, while Gu Chao nodded in agreement.

The draft blew through the hall, causing the open door to the backyard to sway slightly.

Grandma Gu stood in the main room and glanced at the kitchen, then walked away with a smile.

"Are you going out tomorrow?" Wei Lan sat at the table and watched Gu Chao put away the dishes, "Going to other mountains?"

Gu Chao said calmly: "No need for the time being."

"Then let's go to the black market?" Wei Lan's dark eyes turned, and suddenly his eyes lit up, "There is goat milk at home, can we make some to try?"

After saying that, Wei Lan stared at Gu Chao intently.

I said I was asking Gu Chao for his opinion, but actually I had already made up my mind and had to go.

Gu Chao was helpless by her troubles and thought that nothing would happen if he was with her, so he nodded, "Okay."

With his promise, Wei Lan went ahead and took a bowl and went to Grandma Gu's room to scoop out flour.

There wasn't much fine noodles left, so Wei Lan scooped up a bowl and a half and stopped scooping out, leaving a small half bag for his family to eat later.

Wei Lan followed the same steps as last time to make goat milk rolls. When making the dough, she asked Gu Chao to heat up the small oven set up in the backyard in advance.
