......

Due to the short body, the Leclerc main battle tank has only six pairs of load-bearing wheels, one less than the M1 and Leopard 2.

The Leclerc main battle tank has a top speed of 71km/hr and an average cross-country speed of 50km/hr. It only takes 5 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 32km/hr.

The cockpit of the Leclerc main battle tank is equipped with three periscopes, and the central one is equipped with Thomson-CSF's OB-60 day/night observation system. The driver uses a stepless steering wheel to control the tank's forward direction.

The Leclerc main battle tank has a 12.7mm coaxial machine gun, carrying 950 rounds of 12.7mm bullets, and there is a 7.62mm machine gun mount near the hatch of the commander and the gunner, but usually only the commander's machine gun is installed .

The pitching range of these two gun mounts is not large, so it is difficult to carry out anti-aircraft shooting, and they are mainly used to suppress ground targets.

In addition, seven new 80mm GALIX multipurpose projectiles are installed on each side of the rear section of the Leclerc main battle tank turret, called Armoured Vehicle Close (AVCP).

The armored vehicle short-range defense system can launch smoke bombs, infrared decoys, personnel anti-personnel grenades, personnel blocking mines, etc., and effectively undertake the short-range self-defense mission of tanks.

These GALIX launchers are well-fitted and integrated into the turret armor and are well protected.

The Leclerc main battle tank is equipped with a GIAT CN-120-26 120mm 52-caliber smoothbore gun.

The CN-120-26 main gun follows the typical French design since the AMX-30. In order to pursue the internal ballistic performance, there is no barrel smoker. Instead, compressed air is used from the combat room to blow out the smoke in the barrel after firing.

CN-120-26 has an electronic servo gyroscope two-axis gun body stabilization system, which can shoot indirectly, and synchronize with the observation system through the firing control system.

CN-120-26 is equipped with aluminum alloy gun body heat sleeve to prevent the barrel from being deformed by heat. In addition to the ammunition developed by GIAT, it can also use NATO standard 120mm smoothbore ammunition.

Different from M1 and Leopard 2, Leclerc's main gun adopts an automatic loading system, so the loader is omitted, and the whole vehicle has only three crew members.

Auto-loading not only reduces manpower requirements, which in turn makes the tank more compact, but also greatly increases the rate of fire (up to 12-15 rounds per minute).

The ammunition developed by GIAT for the CN-120-26 main gun includes three live ammunition, two training live ammunition for firing, and two training dud ammunition for loading.

The live ammunition is 120APFSDSF1A wing-stabilized shelling armor-piercing projectile (muzzle velocity 1790m/s, effective range 4000m, using tungsten-manganese alloy core, error radius less than 500px when flying 3000m), 120HEAT-MPF1 high-explosive armor-piercing projectile (using conical chemical energy charge) Warhead, muzzle velocity 1100m/s, effective range 3000m, error radius less than 625px when flying 2000m) and 120HEF1 high-explosive grenade (muzzle velocity 1000m/s, effective range over 4000m, error radius less than 875px when flying 2000m, mainly used for against soft or semi-rigid targets such as people, buildings, light vehicles, etc.).

These shells all use semi-combustible propellant pods, and their primers are suitable for electric firing mechanisms. After firing, only a bottom plate is left and is discharged into the collection bag under the breech ring, which does not affect the operation of the occupants in the car.

As for the two training live ammunitions for shooting, they are 120APFSDS-TP-T wing stable shelling armor-piercing practice rounds (the bore wear is lighter than live ammunition) and 120HEAT-TP-T high-explosive armor-piercing practice rounds.
