It was slowly raising its hands towards Roy, but he was unaware of its actions as he hadn't bothered to spare it even a single glance.

"I need to find a way to escape. However, if it manages to catch up to me, my only option will be to go Super Baldwin! I'm not sure what kind of side effects I'll experience from increasing my basic stats to 1000 points each without awakening and evolving my body, but that's the power I need to face it head-on. I can't continue holding back forever!"

Roy's thoughts were dangerous!

However, the only way he could fight as its equal was to activate the power boost skill and go Super Baldwin.

The enigmatic being gazed upon Roy with a hungry gaze as it emerged entirely from the vortex.

It extended a human-like hand and aimed a finger at his back, causing a mysterious gravitational pull to act on him instantly.

"I am not going down easily!"

Roy unleashed a powerful force. A wave of darkness erupted from within him, counteracting the downward force.

Boom!

The two opposing forces collided in the air, generating powerful shockwaves that rocked the very foundation of this world as neither yielded an inch.

"I'm running low on aura, but it doesn't seem to be getting tired at all. Should I really push myself to go Super Baldwin?"

Just as he was weighing his options, a powerful force from the other side shattered the spot in the "sky" that he had been hitting relentlessly.

Roy was familiar with the cube-like being on the other side - it was the Obsidian Overlord

"What's he doing here?" Roy wondered aloud.

"Don't resist. I am here to help you."

As he spoke, the Obsidian Overlord's body shone with a powerful force that pulled Roy towards him.

Roy's body passed through the hole in the sky and reached the surface area of the Ashen land despite the ridiculously powerful gravitational pull of the mysterious entity acting on him!

"He is mine! You can't take him from me!" the mysterious entity screamed.

"You must be crazy. He clearly has a free will of his own. He is his own person." The Obsidian Overlord calmly scolded it.

"Don't butt in our matter!"

The mysterious entity refused to listen and flew towards them.

"You can't be reasoned with!"

The Obsidian Overlord said as his body lit up in resplendent light, releasing a powerful force that made the sky of the Ashen Land tremble. It looked as if it would break apart any moment now.

Bam!

This force crashed onto the mysterious entity like a world-ending calamity.

Swoosh!

It shot backwards at the speed of light, causing it to instantly vanish from Roy's and Obsidian Overlord's sight!

It was thrown back into the vortex like a ragdoll!

Roy felt impressed. The enemy he was having trouble staying afloat against was manhandled by the Obsidian Overlord!

"Looks like the third King of Void is stronger than some top-notch experts of the Far West Realm," Roy thought to himself.

The radiant glow emanating from the body of the Obsidian Overlord coalesced into a concentrated beam, which then penetrated the vortex, effectively sealing it shut.

Curious about the Obsidian Overlord's action, Roy inquired, "What have you done?"

"I have managed to seal it off, but this seal is not a permanent one," replied the Obsidian Overlord. "It will hold for the next ten years, after which the mysterious entity in the vortex will be freed. However, there is a chance of the seal breaking from the inside, in which case it would come out much sooner - perhaps in just one year."

"I don't know what you did, but it seemed to be obsessed with you. It's bound to come after you after it's released."

Roy felt concerned and asked, "Is there any way to stop it from coming after me?"

The Overlord replied, "There is a way, but it won't be for free. You will have to work for me."

Roy looked hesitant, but he knew he had to do something to protect himself and those around him. "Uh, sure. What do you need me to do?"

"Let me start off by introducing myself. I am the king of the third layer of Void," Roy listened intently as the Obsidian Overlord began to speak about himself. "I am also a businessman, trying to make a name for myself in the Thousand Great World. However, my efforts have been thwarted by the Four Great Gods of Nature, who have been keeping a close eye on me."

"Wait! You have met the Four Gods? Can you tell me about them?" Roy interrupted.

They are the gods of the most popular religions of the Thousand Great Worlds. They've many worshippers, and they are known for being benevolent. But I know what they are actually like. They are as nefarious as chaotic beings and viler than devils. They once tried to destroy everything in the Thousand Great Worlds to kill a great man. The worlds weren't destroyed because he sacrificed himself for the greater good. But the vile bastards brainwashed everyone into believing that they were the ones who stopped the destruction of the worlds while he was the one who initiated it! I get angry whenever I think about them. It makes my blood boil!" the overlord said angrily.

Roy nodded in agreement as he heard his words.

"I understand how you feel," he said, "The four gods of nature may be revered by many, but their true nature is not as benevolent as they make themselves out to be. They have caused their fair share of chaos and destruction, all in the name of their own self-interest."

Roy knew what he was talking about.

The four gods had opened the doors to the worst side of the universe just to force Alkheim to die!

They were cockroaches disguised as gods! If it were up to him to decide their punishment, he would've ctushed them like the ants they are!

"It's good that you understand." The Overlord was happy to have found a like-minded friend in Roy.
