Vol 8 Chapter 26: discipline

Early the next morning, Vander, who hadn't slept all night, left the bar for a trip.

Not long after, the letter device that Law Enforcement Officer Grayson gave to Van der was sent directly to the other party's office by the pipeline.

Law Enforcement Grayson just walked into the office at work, and she immediately stepped forward to turn the combination lock and open the writing device.

A roll of dirty and torn waste paper was poured out from the inside, and the content on it was very simple: Tomorrow will be sunset, and the top of the elevator will be handed over.

Seeing this, Grayson couldn't help but heaved a sigh of relief, and showed a slight smile.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

Officer Marcus, who went to the black alley to investigate together yesterday, appeared at the door of the office.

"Sheriff." Marcos stood upright and asked, "What is the direction of today's investigation?"

"Boy."

Law Enforcement Officer Grayson was in a good mood. She shook the letter paper in her hand: "You can be lazy today. Van der has sent a letter. Tomorrow, when the sun goes down, we can go to the elevator to pick up the prisoner."

Marcus was slightly taken aback.

He looked at the letter paper in the hands of Law Enforcement Officer Grayson, and he couldn't help showing a hesitant look on his face.

Seeing this, Grayson beckoned him into the room.

Marcus hesitated for a moment, so he walked into the office and sat across the desk from Grayson.

"Why?" Marcus asked a little alienated: "Why do we compromise with those gutters? Sheriff! We can obviously handle the case by ourselves, why do we have to follow the rhythm of those gutters?!"

"Boy." Grayson asked softly: "What is the duty of our law enforcement officer?"

"Protect the city and the people!" Marcos responded immediately.

"Yes." Grayson nodded slightly: "So why do we have to set off confrontation and fighting?"

"Fight?!" Marcus said with contempt on his face, "Just those gutter bugs in the lower city?!"

Grayson raised his eyes and glanced at Marcus, and then his tone became cold: "Since I took the position of sheriff, I have set a rule for all newcomers, tell me, what is the rule?"

Marcos seemed to have been poured a basin of cold water, and his emotions quickly calmed down.

After a moment of silence, he said truthfully: "All law enforcement officers who join the team must first familiarize themselves with the materials of the riot five years ago!"

"Tell me." Grayson said softly, "What was the number of casualties that year?"

"We nearly wiped out the mob that rushed over the bridge. The last count shows that the number of mobs who died was 300..."

"Say another!"

Grayson suddenly interrupted: "Tell me! In that riot, how many were the law enforcement officers' casualties!"

"Injuries... Casualties..."

"explain!"

"Twenty-three people were slightly injured! Six people were seriously injured! Death..."

Swallowing involuntarily, Marcus lowered his voice: "Death...twelve people..."

"It's just what you see!"

Grayson's voice was serious: "This is a number that the nobles allow to record for the sake of decency!"

She sighed, lowered her eyes and covered her forehead and said softly: "Before then, the number of casualties kept appearing, and that bridge rush was just the last decisive battle..."

Raising her head, Grayson put her arms on the table, leaned forward slightly, stared at Marcus and said in a deep voice: "I have seen the conflicts happening at both ends of the bridge with my own eyes! I have personally participated in that Suppression of riots! I did!"

Taking a breath, Grayson suddenly fell silent.

After a while, she sighed with emotion in a low voice: "Marcos, I have seen my colleagues and teammates being scratched and bitten by crazy people from the bottom city. The bottom city man opened his throat with his fingernails..."

"So you're afraid?" Marcus' comprehension was obviously not good enough.

This made Grayson show a self-deprecating wry smile.

She inserted her hands into her short hair with a lot of white silk, and then said softly: "You went to Dicheng with me, if you were from there, what would you do?"

Marcus opened his mouth, he already tried his best to put himself in it, but obviously he could only imagine one-sided things.

This made him a little tired of Grayson's instruction, so he simply responded in a broken jar: "Sorry sir, I can't imagine it."

Grayson gave Marcus a disappointed look.

Then she said directly: "In short, this matter can be big or small, and it can be resolved peacefully by giving each other some face, avoiding disputes, bloodshed, and making matters worse! Anyway, the nobles just want an explanation."

Standing up, Grayson waved his hands wearily: "Go on patrol, or go to the bombed house in the college district with me to investigate something?"

"I'm going on patrol!"

Marcus made his choice immediately, he didn't want to listen to Grayson's nagging.

In this regard, Grayson had no choice but to wave his hand again to signal Marcos to take it easy.

Marcus got up and saluted, then turned and walked out of the office.

As soon as he walked to the lobby on the first floor of the police station, the guard immediately greeted him: "Marcos, here is a letter from you."

"My letter?"

Marcus walked over in surprise, and took the envelope with only his name on it from the guard.

The envelope was slightly heavy, and there seemed to be something in it besides the letter paper.

Marcus opened the seal strangely, and looked inside the envelope, he couldn't help being stunned.

Because he saw a gold coin inside the envelope.

Immediately closing the envelope subconsciously, he cautiously asked the guard: "Who sent this letter?!"

"have no idea."

The doorman shook his head: "When I went to the bathroom, the letter was placed on the door post, so I didn't see the person who delivered it."

Marcus nodded slowly, he showed a smirk, then thanked him and went back upstairs.

Go into the bathroom and find a compartment where Marcos reopens the envelope.

First poured out the gold coins and stuffed them into his pocket, then he unfolded the letter paper.

After reading the handwriting on it, Marcos couldn't help showing a hesitant expression.

But he didn't hesitate for long.

Soon, with firm eyes, he tore the letter paper into pieces and threw it into the toilet to flush it away.

More than an hour later, Marcos appeared in the border market.

He wore a breathing mask and approached the coastal cliff, and saw a figure after entering the abandoned area.

That figure was leaning against a wall that was about to collapse~www.wuxiamtl.com~ After seeing Marcos, the thug sent out by Silko to inquire about information straightened his body and turned his head to signal keep up.

The thugs lead the way without a sound.

Marcus hesitated for a moment, but continued to follow.

Ten minutes later, Marcos was brought to the door of an abandoned building.

The thugs leading the way followed the door into the darkness.

A voice of "waiting" came from the darkness that seemed to be biting people.

Another ten minutes later, a sound of unhurried footsteps sounded from the darkness, and Silko's aristocratic figure walked out of the darkness with confidence...
