The days of hanging out at Hogwarts

Chapter 140 An unexpected encounter

"Go next door and call Hermione and the others. You can't wait too long for delicious food." After tasting a piece, Bates couldn't wait any longer. He squeezed out of Loren's position, grabbed the seasoning and sprinkled it on the barbecue.

Loren looked at Bates with wide eyes, "Next door, Hermione?"

"Didn't you notice? Our new home is right next to Granger's house. We are neighbors." Bates turned his back to Loren and showed a successful smile.

"I arrived in London a day early and spent some time buying this house. I asked Mr. and Mrs. Granger about the precautions for moving in. The property insurance was already in place, which saved a lot of money..."

Loren didn't hear Bates's muttering at all, and ran out without looking back with strange joy.

Bates turned around and saw only Loren's back. He grinned and cursed: "You brat."

Granger's house next door.

Brisk, rhythmic footsteps sounded, followed by the sound of the key being inserted into the door lock, the sound of the lock cylinder being turned, and the door opened.

Hermione's eyes lit up again when she was sitting on the sofa, and she quickly walked up to meet her:

"Mom, Dad, you're back!"

Seeing the two people's empty hands, Hermione was a little confused. Usually when they went home, they would buy dinner and the dishes prepared for tomorrow.

"Shall we go out to eat tonight?" Hermione asked.

Wendell and Monica looked at each other and smiled, "No, Bates bought a house next door to us, and we will go to their house to celebrate tonight."

"We, next door?" Hermione's eyes and mouth opened wide.

"Yeah, Loren didn't tell you, we will be neighbors from now on, it's the one on the right, Bates is really rich..." Wendell was still rambling.

Hermione pushed open the door and ran towards the house next to her.

The evening breeze swept over the little girl's face, blowing her long brown hair. The little figure danced in the brilliance of the setting sun, just like the shining heart.

Loren was also running in the direction of Hermione's house, his eyes filled with joy.

Hermione could see the thin layer of sweat on Loren's forehead, and could see the same smile on his face as hers. It was that smile that filled both of their hearts.

The two figures running fast stopped when they were about to collide. The two stared into each other's eyes and refused to move away, with uncontrollable smiles on their lips.

Loren couldn't help but gasp, met Hermione's gaze, and said with a smile: "I, our family, invite you to come and be our guests."

"Yeah!" Hermione blushed and nodded heavily.

The afterglow of the setting sun dissipated in the dark blue night. In the backyard of a villa in Hampstead Gardens on the outskirts of the city, a group of people gathered around a charcoal fire and tried their best to deal with a large plate of roast lamb in front of them.

The outer skin of the lamb is roasted until fragrant, and the fat and sauce form a layer of brown crispy skin, which is covered with powdered cumin, cardamom and other spices. Onions, carrots, and potatoes are dotted on the side, stained with attractive oil color.

Loren was careful when dividing the meat and gave Hermione four of the eight ribs. Put his and Hermione's plates together, cut them into pieces, poke a piece of tenderloin with a knife, and bring it to Hermione's mouth.

The aroma of spices, meat, and fat made her mouth secrete fluids. Hermione bit into it and her eyes became bright.

The tenderloin with clear texture spreads out in the mouth, and the wonderful gravy and meat aroma fills the entire mouth, with the saltiness of cumin and sauce.

"Yeah!" Hermione nodded as she ate, and praised after swallowing the meat, "It's delicious, tender and juicy, and the spices and flavors are well blended."

This is it, this is an excellent eater, and Loren felt infinite satisfaction in his heart.

At first, Wendell followed Loren's example of cutting the meat with a knife and tasting it piece by piece. But before long, Bates led him astray, and he started tearing the leg of lamb with his teeth, chewing it, and swallowing it.

Monica reminded him, "Eating like this is not good for your gums."

Wendell chewed the mutton for a moment, and then said seriously: "Protecting your teeth is for better eating. Now, it's time for it to play its role."

After saying that, he concentrated on the mutton leg in his hand, and his mouth was full of oil.

Monica looked at the seasoning powder and oil beside his mouth, and then looked at Bates, who was also holding the leg of lamb and chewing on it. His beard was clean. She sighed, cutting the mutton with a knife and tasting it in small bites.

After Wendell satisfied his hungry stomach, his eating speed slowed down, and he sighed: "We should try roasting lamb next time we go camping. It's so delicious."

"You said you would choose water camping next time. You can't roast lamb on the boat." Monica broke his fantasy.

It’s so hard to choose.

Wendell looked at the roasted lamb in his hand, thought about the fun of fishing, and fell into a difficult decision.

"Is camping fun?" Bates asked curiously.

Wendell nodded: "It's fun, being able to get close to nature and enjoy the wilderness."

"I have a cabin on a mountain pasture, and I would like to invite you to be my guest."

"Pasture? Are there animals? Are the mountains beautiful? Can you reach out and touch the clouds..."

Loren and Hermione stayed in the corner, listening to the adults' chatter. Their stomachs were bulging, but they still wanted to eat.

Hermione inserted the last piece of tenderloin, felt the pressure on her belly, and put it down with regret: "I can't eat any more."

Loren suppressed a laugh and said, "If you can't eat it, just eat it tomorrow. Your stomach is more important."

Before leaving, Hermione still made some space in her belly and stomach and ate the last piece of meat with difficulty.

Dear Headmaster Dumbledore:

Hey, it's me, the top student at Hogwarts who makes you proud, Loren.

I hope your summer vacation is pleasant enough to eliminate the depression in your life. You know, the Patronus Charm requires enough happy memories to be released. My Patronus still shows no signs of condensing into reality. Maybe it’s because I’m still young and don’t have enough happy memories.

Just yesterday, my grandfather Bates, who traveled far away, finally came back and ended my adoption by the Granger family. While sharing this good news with you, I sincerely invite you to visit my new home, which is right next door to Granger's house, at 118 Hampstead Gardens, a suburb of London.

At the same time, there is some good or bad news. My grandfather once met your favorite Defense Against the Dark Arts professor and spent some time with him. If Lockhart can survive the next school year smoothly, "Wandering with Werewolves" may get a new sequel. Of course, that's not the point. Although I didn't notice any discomfort in Grandpa Bates, I still hope that the principal can check whether Grandpa Bates has any memory loss.

Say hello to Hagrid for me and quietly ask him if he can help me get the unicorn horn.

Sincere regards

Loren stopped writing, waited for the ink to dry, put the letter paper into a beautifully printed envelope, and handed it to Hanhan who was waiting at the side.

He touched the little spectacled owl's head and said, "Go quickly. I'll treat you to a white mouse when I come back."

"Cuckoo!" The owl spread its wings and disappeared into the vast night.
