Chapter 1423: Dungeon(2)

It seemed like a simple task, but what Aakesh needed to bet on were his levels and attributes. Also, losing wasn't an option since both the demons fighting in the arena were above Level 350.

If he were to replace any of the two, he would die an unfortunate death, which Aakesh didn't want to happen.

After Aakesh decided to bet, the betting odds appeared in his mind. It was similar for the two, with both having the same exact strength and both having abilities that would restrict the other opponent, so choosing a winner from the two wasn't an easy task at all.

Both combatants had the odds of 2, so if Aakesh bet heavily, he would be able to gain what would usually take him several decades or even centuries.

Aakesh didn't have the entire day to make his decision. There was a timer in the sky, giving him only thirty seconds.

Ten seconds had already passed, so he only had twenty more seconds left.

First, Aakesh needed to win if he wanted to survive and leave, so he immediately bet four levels and a thousand units of strength and agility. It was an immensely heavy bet. If he were to lose, the loss would be extremely substantial.

He had nineteen more seconds left before the betting window came to an end. Aakesh looked at both combatants to find out who could be the winner. There was a screen detailing the abilities of the two combatants, so Aakesh focused on it.

With only three seconds left, Aakesh came to his decision and decided to bet on Gertusa, the demon on the left.

Gertusa was a fire element user, while the opponent was a water type. Water trumped fire, but it also gave birth to hot vapor, which Gertusa had a skill for.

Aakesh had devised three ways to defeat his opponent in the span of a few seconds, and he only hoped for Gertusa to design one and win.

Ding!

A bell rang in the arena, announcing the start of the battle. Gertusa and his opponent charged at each other, having their fists covered by the respective element they controlled.

The battle wasn't short at all and went on for around an hour with no victor in sight.

If not for the large level and strength gap, Aakesh wouldn't mind battling the two of them at once, seeing their tacky strength. But since his bet was heavy, he couldn't afford any losses.

Aakesh couldn't just watch that tiresome battle, so he looked around the spectator's area, searching for those supporting Gertusa. There were beings of different power levels, ranging from 200 to 400.

Looking at the spectators, Aakesh fixed his sight on Level 300. The man was extremely tense, showing that he had bet heavily on Gertusa. The next moment, he threw a small rock toward the man, which fell directly on his thighs.

The man picked up the rock and was shocked to find that it detailed different ways for Gertusa to act and win. The man raised his head and tried to find out who gave him the strategies. However, he was unable to locate the person.

The man stopped searching for the stranger but struggled with whether to shout the strategy. In the end, he decided not to yell it and watched the battle.

Since Aakesh could not use any skill, he carved two strategies on the rock and threw it to the man. When the man didn't act as he had hoped, Aakesh didn't feel disappointed but waited.

As the battle progressed, the man was certain to lose his control and yell at them. Even though there was no rule stopping Aakesh from not yelling the strategy himself, Aakesh acted cautiously since his intuition warned him against doing anything of that sort.

Another hour passed in the blink of an eye. The crowd's cheers had grown louder since the battle was going neck to neck for them.

Aakesh felt exactly the opposite. He wasn't the only one to feel that way. The man was also feeling disappointed after watching the battle.

Once he knew ways to efficiently defeat the opponent, he found Gertusa's strategies laughable. At the same time, the thought of loss was getting heavy on him.

Finally, after ten minutes, he reached his limit when the opponent caused a grave injury, making Gertusa fall into a disadvantage.

"You stupid brainhead, why don't you use your brain and activate…"

In no time, the man yelled out one strategy, shocking and silencing the crowd. The man suddenly felt a chill crawling down his spine as powerful beings looked at him.

He wasn't the only one to bet. All of them in the crowd had made their bets. In just a moment, the man became the enemy of all those who had bet on Gertusa's opponent.

Gertusa, in the arena, was angry with the man for another reason. The man had hurled several abusive words while yelling out the strategy.

Similarly, the opponent was angry due to an external influence in a battle that could make him lose.

Even though Gertusa was angry, he decided to use the strategy but to retain his confidence, he didn't fully implement it.

Gertusa wasn't that much of an idiot, so even without completely using the strategy, he succeeded in winning the battle.

At that moment, the man in the spectator area exploded. The source of the attack was a Level 398 being who had bet heavily on Gertusa's opponent.

The being then turned his head around and stared directly in Aakesh's direction. He had seen Aakesh throw the rock but never knew it contained the strategies to make him lose a large chunk of his wealth.

It was uncomfortable to be the target of a Level 398 creature's gaze, but Aakesh remained unfazed and stared back. In the end, the man had to move his eyes away, feeling chilly and staring at those deep eyes filled with nothing but indifference.

Aakesh then was covered in a blue light, and in the eyes of everyone, he disappeared from the arena.

The next moment, he felt warm energy washing through his body. He had not only gained attributes due to his bet but also from the level gain.
