After coming back out, Xing Jiuan did not look for Lin Ling at once.

There were very few people in the vicinity, so she decided to take a walk around.

All of a sudden, her cell phone rang. She opened it to have a look and fell silent for a moment. Then, she walked out.

She simply sent a message to Lin Ling on the way, telling her that she was returning first.

Lin Ling had wanted to send her off, but Xing Jiuan didn’t let her.

There were many people looking at her on the road. Her hair color and face were all very eye-catching.

After leaving the school and walking for a short distance, she saw a black car not far away.

Someone got out of the car. He was wearing a black suit. He did not smile, but his voice was respectful.

“Young Miss, please get in.”

Xing Jiuan got into the car.

She did not know what was in the car, but she felt relaxed as soon as she got in. It was as if the fatigue and thoughts from the past few days had disappeared.

She leaned back in her seat and slowly closed her eyes.

When she woke up, the car was still on the move.

Xing Jiuan frowned slightly in discomfort.

The person in front had been observing her. Seeing her like this, he handed her some water and snacks.

The snacks had been placed in a heat preservation container. They were delicate and small, and there weren’t many of them.

Xing Jiuan had no appetite and only drank water.

“How long more?” she asked, her voice husky.

“Soon, Young Miss,” the man in front replied.

Xing Jiuan did not speak again. She did not know if she was in a daze or something, but she was letting herself go.

Not long after, they had indeed arrived.

Xing Jiuan was led into a courtyard house that occupied quite a large area.

“Miss, Old Master is waiting for you in the living room,” Uncle Wang, the butler, said with a smile as he walked in with Xing Jiuan.

“Uncle Wang, why are you all suddenly in the capital?” Xing Jiuan asked.

“Old Master has nothing on recently, so he wants to see you, Young Miss.”

“How is Uncle’s health?”

“Old Master is fine.”

After bringing Xing Jiuan in, Uncle Wang went to prepare lunch.

In the living room, a man in his fifties sat on the sofa. His hair was combed back, and his white-gloved hands held a black walking stick.

Sitting on the sofa, he smiled at Xing Jiuan.

“Uncle,” Xing Jiuan called out and walked over to sit down.

Though this uncle was of mixed blood, he looked more Chinese. However, his brows were darker and his eyes seemed a little green.

“Why do you look unhappy?” The man pushed the plate of fruits over for her to eat.

Xing Jiuan did not move or speak.

“Be good and chat with me.”

“I’m not unhappy.”

“Little liar, do you think I don’t know you? Did someone offend you or did you get bullied?”

These two situations were completely different to men.

“Both…”

Xing Jiuan originally wanted to say no, but she still had to take action in the future. If her uncle found out, he would call her a little liar again.

The man’s expression instantly turned cold. “Your so-called senior brother, didn’t he protect you well? I knew he couldn’t do it. Come with me, Little Jiuan. I can give you anything. I won’t let anyone bully you.”

This was natural. If Xing Jiuan had really grown up at her uncle’s place, she would definitely have been pampered to the point of becoming lawless. As for bullying, she would probably have ended up being the one bullying others.

“I want to stay with Senior Brother,” Xing Jiuan said, declining his offer.

“Bad girl, what is bad about my place?”

Xing Jiuan did not answer. “Did Uncle come over this time just to see me?”
