Chapter 660: Mom’s Skills

Gao Guilan waved her hand and directed her daughter-in-law, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren to rush into the sugar beet field like a general on the battlefield.

Each person has one ridge and they work hard. The main task of the children is to grab beets and cherry blossoms. If they occasionally grab a beet, they will jump with joy.

Zheng Xinyue took a small shovel and searched along the furrow. If there was an area that had not been dug out, she would plow it twice. The furrow would be dozens of meters long, and she would switch to another one at the end and return.

An hour passed. She was so tired that she made a dozen beets. She was so tired that she found a place to sit under a tree and rest.

“Xinyue, thank you, aunt.”

As soon as she fanned herself with a towel, Erbao's mother came over. She looked at Zheng Xinyue and thanked her repeatedly for being her benefactor.

"You're welcome."

Zheng Xinyue's eyes flashed. Erbao must have woken up, otherwise his mother wouldn't have come to thank her.

"That **** female ghost almost strangled my son to death. Fortunately, you cured him with medicine. Otherwise, finding a wife would be a problem in the future, and your uncle and I would have suffered a lot."

Erbao's mother was still thinking about it, looking at Zheng Xinyue with a pity expression. She had also thought about letting Erbao marry Xinyue, but in the end she was still afraid of her illness.

Otherwise, such a good daughter-in-law belongs to her family now, so why worry about Erbao not finding a partner?

“Is there really a female ghost?”

Zheng Xinyue never believed it. After hearing what Erbao's mother said, she hurriedly asked.

"There really was a female ghost. Goudan Wude pushed my son over, and the female ghost strangled his neck and refused to let go. Erbao said that the female ghost's hands were colder than ice cubes in winter."

Erbao’s mother muttered to herself, Zheng Xinyue was half-convinced, but she thought that such a weird thing could happen to her when she traveled through time, so how could there really be a ghost?

As soon as she thought about it, the leaves behind her made a rustling sound. She didn't know what got into her neck. Xinyue was so frightened that she suddenly jumped up and shook her clothes violently.

"It's a foreign spicy food." Erbao's mother hurriedly came over to help and knocked a black caterpillar off Xinyue's collar. Zheng Xinyue was so frightened that she hurried away from the tree.

Thinking about how she used caterpillars to scare Zhang Xiuxiu in the commune, Zheng Xinyue smiled bitterly. Girls are naturally afraid of such soft bugs.

Erbao's mother comforted her, then turned around and went to fight in the fields. Zheng Xinyue glanced at the field, where most of the people were bending down. Several children carried baskets filled with beets and cherry seeds. She went to find her mother and carried her in the basket. All the beets were moved into their own baskets so that they could be sent home together.

“Mom, why did you get so many?”

Zheng Xinyue looked at her mother's almost full basket in surprise. She didn't have time to find a dozen beets in total. Why is her mother so capable?

"Don't make any noise. When harvesting the fields, mom will pull out the seedlings and keep the beets."

Gao Guilan made a gesture of hissing and told her daughter proudly in a suppressed voice.

 “Mom, you are really good.”

Zheng Xinyue gave her mother a thumbs up and asked curiously: "How do you know which ridge is the land where you keep beets?"

“Mom, did I give you my brain for nothing? Don’t look for it at the end of the field. It’s a waste of effort. Be careful in the middle, as there will be fish that slip through the net.”

Gao Guilan wiped her sweat and pointed out shortcuts to her daughter arrogantly. Everyone tacitly understood that it was the same every year. The top and bottom of the field were clean enough for inspection, but all the trouble was in the middle!

“I’ll go back and deliver you first, and then bring some water over.”

Zheng Xinyue simply exchanged backpacks with her mother, so that it would be faster to move the dozen beets she had brought.

When she returned home with her five children, she saw a black shadow jumping along the wall into her yard.
