To Your Island

Chapter 60: To travel

It takes three hours to drive to the city next door to see the sea.

Wang Jiexiang prepared a bunch of snacks, took the luggage to travel and organized an oversized suitcase.

Yin Xian couldn't help her: "Let's go for four days. Your stuff seems to be going for two years."

"Be prepared!" She tore open the snack package and stuffed potato chips into his mouth.

After eating her potato chips, Yin Xian didn't say anything else, and helped her put the suitcase on the car.

"You add an extra coat so it will be cold when you go out."

Wang Jiexiang giggled, "I'm not afraid of the cold."

November is about to enter the winter season.

As the car drove on the road, most of the surrounding street trees were withered, and the cold wind blew through, bringing down a few leaves.

Yin Xian drove, but Wang Jiexiang hasn't stopped since he got in the car.

She eats and feeds Yin Xian. She tells him about the fun and delicious food in that city, and tells him about the funny things that happened when she went to work.

The car was chattering and filled with her voice.

He saw that she was very happy today, and she was so excited as a child going out on a spring trip.

"You eat it yourself, I won't eat it anymore." Yin Xian hid her face back, not touching the sweets she handed to her mouth.

"Ah—" Wang Jiexiang stretched out his arm, unwilling to give up: "You have a bite, this jelly has another flavor, it's delicious."

Yin Xian reluctantly took another bite.

"You are full. When we arrive at the hotel, we will go to the restaurant to eat delicious food. You can't eat it anymore."

She ate the jelly he had bitten, and put the snack trash into a plastic bag: "What you said makes sense."

Since Wang Jiexiang said too much, in order to divert her attention, Yin Xian assigned her the task of playing with a mobile phone.

He gave her his cell phone and asked her to play with the snake in it.

The kid Wang Jiexiang was also very fascinated by playing games. She didn't play two snakes, so she was aroused. Hugging her mobile phone in the car seat, she manipulated the buttons flexibly, playing with all her attention.

The car finally calmed down, and Yin Xian played a song.

"Oh, the phone is stuck."

Wang Jiexiang's button did not respond, and the phone was stuck for a few seconds, and a text message came in.

Glancing at the message prompt, she returned the phone to Yin Xian.

"It's a text message from your company."

He did not answer the cell phone.

"It's okay, don't worry, you can keep playing."

Wang Jiexiang returned to the snake-eating interface and restarted the game.

After a while, she stopped again.

The prompt sound of the phone ringing, the monotonous ringtone completely overwhelmed the lyrical music played in the car.

"It's your company phone."

Without looking at the phone, he said, "No answer."

Wang Jiexiang understood that she shouldn't be too happy, as if she was on the opposite side of his workstation, and she had always tried to understand his work. However, when Yin Xian refused the company to find him, her joy could not even be hidden.

They let the phone ring and hang up automatically when it rings.

The sun entered the car, Wang Jiexiang nestled in the seat comfortably, humming to the stereo.

When they arrived at the destination, they checked in at the hotel and took a walk to the nearby seafood restaurant.

Opening the menu, Wang Jiexiang first checked the price list.

Yin Xian tried to stop her: "Fat."

"It's so expensive," Wang Jiexiang had already finished reading, and turned to whisper to him: "I worked in a seafood factory before, these..."

He snatched the menu from her: "Don't worry about the price, you can just say the name what you want to eat."

Yin Xian's words were really lavish, Wang Jiexiang also put on a lavish expression, patted the table, and answered him: "Okay, let's have a plate of fried noodles first."

He opened the menu and glanced at the fried noodles: As expected, it was written at the bottom corner of the menu, and the price was only higher than rice.

In the end, Yin Xian ordered the dishes. He ordered a copy of the specialty dishes of this restaurant.

Waiting for the time to serve, he said he went to the bathroom.

Wang Jiexiang was just about to wash his hands, Yin Xian walked with her front foot, and her back heel went over.

After she washed her hands, she walked out and caught a glimpse of his back. He stood at the end of the corridor and called.

Wang Jiexiang didn't call him, and went back to his seat.

The food on the table was ready, and Yin Xian hadn't returned yet, so she sat and waited bored.

He was on the phone for too long, and when he came back, their seafood soup was a bit cold.

Seeing him coming, she raised a smile and helped him out of the chair.

Yin Xian looked at Wang Jiexiang's empty bowl and asked her, "Why don't you eat it first?"

"I'm not hungry."

She called the waiter and asked him to help them warm up the soup, without any unpleasant expression on her face.

Yin Xian sat down, still paying attention: "You don't have to wait for me, eat first."

She whispered: "At home, I always eat first too..."

Putting a shrimp in his bowl, Wang Jiexiang took a deep breath.

"I'm really not hungry. I ate a lot of snacks in the car. I'll be fine after a while."

"Maintaining a good mood for traveling", the two of them tacitly didn't want to disappoint.

However, it is not the season to go to the beach at all, and the water temperature is so low that it is impossible to go to the sea.

The wind was strong the next day, and it was too cold even to walk to the beach.

Yin Xian suggested that they go to the nearby food court and Wang Jiexiang immediately agreed.

They rarely have the opportunity to go shopping together. The food court has no special features. It seems that every city has a similar commercial street, but they are very active.

When the gluttonous Wang Jiexiang met a street vendor selling snacks, he always had to go and take a look. She will not miss the boutiques on the road.

In the photo, a cartoon rabbit issued a card. She picked it up and gestured on her head.

"Yin Xian, look at me, do I look good?"

He shook his head: "Naive."

Wang Jie put it down fragrantly.

When she walked out of the store, she didn't see Yin Xian following. She looked back for him and found him lined up at the cashier.

He calculated the money for the rabbit's hairpin, and Wang Jiexiang joyfully pinned it to his hair.

After walking for a short distance, this time the stare's eyes were attracted.

There is a small stall, and the sign says: Make your own name phone pendant.

They approached the stall and took a look. It was nothing unusual. Different characters are engraved on the plastic colored squares. The buyer picks out his own name, and the vendor uses a rope to help you string them together, and the phone pendant is completed.

Wang Jiexiang looked interested in Yin Xian, and asked him, "Do you want to find your name or my name?"

"your."

So she buried her head and started looking.

"Wang" and "Xiang" were found by her all at once. She was looking for the word "Jie" when Yin Xian suddenly said.

"I found it all."

She looked at the palm of his hand, where two "fat" characters lay.

"Boss, help me make a pendant."

Turning his head, Yin Xian said to Wang Jiexiang, "Do it for you."

"Send you a big head ghost, I don't want it!"

She grabbed his hand, returned the two plastic cubes to the boss, and tore Yin Xian away from the stall.

A group of people surrounded the food street fast to the end, and Wang Jiexiang saw the words "Marriage Bridge" from a distance.

"Wow, there is a special bridge there!" She took Yin Xian to look forward.

In particular, it is far from being considered a very deliberate man-made attraction.

A big tree was surrounded by red ropes, some red ribbons hung on the branches, and a sign with wishes. There is a simple bridge behind the tree, and people with big steps can pass by just four or five steps.

With the word "marriage" as a selling point, many young lovers gathered around the bridge.

Wang Jiexiang was curious: "What are they doing there?"

"Have you seen that stall? The marriage card sells for five yuan, and I will hang you ten yuan on the tree."

"Go," she pulled him over to join in the fun: "Let's go and see too."

Yin Xian had no interest in such things, and the trees over there were noisy and crowded.

Wang Jiexiang didn't notice his expression and jumped to pull him towards the marriage bridge.

Before they could get under the tree, they were entangled by the people doing photo business by the bridge.

"Mr. Ms., do you want to take a photo together? Marriage bridge will help you get married. You are so good-matched, and the results will be beautiful."

Wang Jiexiang waved his hand: "If I don't take pictures, I rarely take pictures. They are not pretty."

When she replied, the business people saw the opportunity and pushed harder to sell, and followed them all the way: "We are professional photographers. You are so beautiful and your face is so small. You must be photogenic. Take one, your boyfriend. He's also a handsome guy. Are you here to play? Come out to play as a souvenir, our marriage bridge is very good."

Yin Xian quickened his pace and wanted to leave, but Wang Jiexiang was faintly moved by him.

"There is a discount for couples' photos. We originally had ten yuan, but if you look at your handsome men and beauties, we will charge you five yuan."

Wang Jiexiang tugged Yin Xian's sleeve: "It only costs five yuan, it doesn't seem to be expensive."

He looked at the expectation in her eyes, and he stopped talking.

Later, it was according to her wishes. They stood on the side of the bridge where people came and went, and the background was a stone tablet with the words "Bridge of Marriage" and the short and narrow broken bridge.

Passing pedestrians cast their gazes at them, and the photographer held the camera, asked them to hold their arms, and made them smile.

When the photo arrived, Wang Jiexiang paid 25 yuan for it: 5 yuan was the cost of taking pictures, and 20 yuan was the cost of washing the photos.

The photo was not well taken, so she asked Yin Xian if she wanted to see it, and he shook his head.

Only then did Wang Jiexiang feel: He was not happy.

He was not happy, but he didn't say the whole process.

In the photo, Wang Jiexiang is holding Yin Xian's arms, her body is leaning towards him, her smile is so bright that she can see her gums, she has taken only a handful of times, and this is the best picture she has ever taken.

He, who was being held by her, stood behind her, except for his arms, and the rest of his body stopped stiffly in place. She was leaning towards him, but he stood upright, leaving a distance between the two.

Yin Xian did not smile, his eyes were not looking at the camera, and his eyes were cold.

The two big and festive scarlet letters behind them seemed to be extremely forceful.

That photo was stuffed into Wang Jiexiang's pocket, and she herself never looked at it again.

They walked back to the food court.

Yin Xian bowed his head, seeing her thoughtful appearance, suggested.

"Go to the marriage tree? I didn't go just now."

Wang Jiexiang stared into his eyes and was silent for a few seconds. She realized that she could not answer his questions fluently, because she began to think about what he expected to do.

This kind of thinking fills her daily life and exists in every moment they get along.

What does he want to do, is he happy, is he unhappy... He never takes the initiative to say.

If she can't guess, she can't.
