Tome of Blood

Chapter 279: -129-The ambition of the third prince

  Bold City, Duke's Mansion.

The third prince Philip sat on the throne of the duke, lazily looking at the letter sent by the teleportation magic.

Behind him, the "Duchess of Boulder" Eleanor stood obediently in scantily clad clothes, massaging his shoulders and feet with two young maids kneeling on the ground who were also scantily clad.

Suddenly, the door of the room was knocked, and the voice of the guard came from outside the door:

"His Royal Highness, Earl Lint, please see me."

The third prince slightly raised his lower eyelids, and said lazily:

"Come in."

The door was quickly pushed open, and a tall, middle-aged male nobleman in armor walked in.

He looks about forty years old, with gray hair and gray eyes, and his facial features are vaguely similar to the third prince, but he is much more determined than the handsome and feminine third prince.

He frowned and looked at the third prince who was half lying on the duke's seat, then glanced at Eleanor who was behind the third prince, and then said to the two maids with a calm face:

"Put clothes on Lady Eleanor, in such a cold day, do you want her to catch the cold?!"

After listening to the words of the middle-aged nobleman, the two maids were unmoved.

Looking at the ugly face of the middle-aged nobleman, the third prince smiled, and lazily ordered to the maid:

"Drape her and take her down."

After listening to the order of the third prince, the maids lowered their heads and acted. They put on a coat for Eleanor and quickly took her down.

When the middle-aged nobleman passed by, the middle-aged nobleman bowed his head slightly in greeting, while Eleanor paused slightly, and quickly left with his head down.

Looking at the middle-aged nobleman who was saluting to Eleanor, the third prince was immediately happy:

"Hehe, my dear uncle, your etiquette is as considerate as ever."

The middle-aged nobleman frowned and said:

"Your Highness, Lady Eleanor is your wife after all, there are some things...don't go too far."

  The third prince yawned lazily:

"Okay, I know, I will pay attention to propriety."

"Tell me, come to me this time, what good news did you bring me?"

The middle-aged man's frown deepened, and he seemed a little displeased with the third prince's frivolous appearance, but in the end he just sighed lightly, bowed respectfully, and said in a deep voice:

"Your Highness, there is news from Violet that the army has been mobilized. The family has gathered 20,000 people and is ready to go north."

After hearing the words of the middle-aged nobleman, the third prince lifted his spirits, sat up immediately, and said with a smile:

"Grandpa's speed is as fast as ever! But..."

  He touched his chin:

"Only 20,000 people? Isn't this quite Violet's style?"

The middle-aged man is a little helpless:

"The mobilization of the family is in the name of drills. Violet has been fighting against Roman all year round. There has always been a tradition of convening nobles for military drills. Twenty thousand people is the limit... If there are more people, it will be more difficult to block the news. It's time to alert Castel."

"Moreover, there are still many old nobles in the Violet Principality who have not completely returned to their hearts, and they still don't forget the Willett family. This also requires my father to allocate some energy to keep an eye on them."

"The Willett family? The family that was deprived of its title by the king in a fit of anger and demoted to commoners? I heard that they seemed to have been attacked many years ago and became extinct."

The third prince said in surprise.

  The middle-aged nobleman nodded:

"Yes, but after all, it is a family that has been running in Violet for nearly a thousand years. Even the name of the Principality of Violet is taken from their surnames. It is good for father to be careful."

"However, you don't have to worry, Your Highness. The army mobilized this time includes 5,000 elite standing troops from the Bois-Lint family, which is enough to deal with the little Castel."

"Five thousand elite standing? Indeed, not bad."

The third prince nodded in satisfaction.

After speaking, he asked again with a smile:

"Is there any news about Grandpa?"

The middle-aged nobleman paused and said:

"Father asked me to ask you, when will we attack? News came from the North Port. It is said that Charlotte of Castel has led the army to the north to suppress the rebellion. Castel is currently empty in the south. It is the best time to attack now." Great timing."

The third prince smiled and said:

"Don't worry, tell grandpa to go to the border first and wait in secret. If we are lucky, we may be able to drive straight in."

The middle-aged nobleman frowned and said:

"Your Highness, wait? What are you waiting for?"

The third prince let out a hey, and handed over the letter in his hand:

"Uncle, Violet knows that the little earl has gone to quell the rebellion, but she doesn't know more details. It seems that the news of Grandpa in the Northland is not so well-informed."

The middle-aged nobleman subconsciously took the letter and browsed it. After reading it, his expression quickly became strange:

"This... is a letter from the Earl of Tulip? Charlotte of Castel united with Tulip's garrison and went north to suppress the rebellion?"

The third prince smiled and said:

"Tulip's garrison commander is Earl Gaston, who is a branch of Duke Gaston's family."

"I promised him that if he came to the throne in the future, I would support them to replace the main branch of Gaston and take over the Duchy of Gaston. Therefore, he has already pledged his secret allegiance to me..."

"Uncle, we are all our own people, and I won't hide it from you. The rebels in Castel are also our people. The Legris family, like the Gaston family, has long been loyal to me."

"Hehe, Charlotte of Castel doesn't know about this. Earl Gaston gained her trust through the old exchange between the two families. She is probably still happy to help Earl Gaston."

"I have magically summoned Gaston and the Castel rebels. After Castel's army launches an attack on the rebels, Gaston will turn against the army and give Castel a fatal blow..."

"The little Earl of Castel doesn't trust the nobles in the territory. This counter-rebellion almost brought all the accompanying nobles with him."

"My dear uncle, if we are lucky, maybe we don't need to fight at all, and we can wrap up all the nobles in Castel."

  The middle-aged noble frowned:

"Your Highness, this is indeed a very bold strategy, but what if it fails?"

The third prince smiled and said:

"If you fail, you will fail. Even if you fail, it can cause serious damage to Castel, which is more conducive to our attack on the Northland..."

The middle-aged nobleman thought deeply, then nodded:

"I understand. If this is the case, then I will call my father and wait for the news from Castel."

"No…"

The third prince stretched out his index finger and shook:

"I want to go north together after I have teleported there."

The middle-aged noble moved slightly in his heart, and then nodded:

"I see."

  …

  The middle-aged nobleman left soon.

The third prince also stood up from his seat and summoned his soldiers:

"Tell the court mage in the magic tower that the time is almost up, and you can start charging the teleportation circle."

The magic teleportation array can transmit letters and items, and naturally it can also teleport humans.

It's just that only the royal family has the extraordinary materials needed for long-distance teleportation.
