Chapter 17: invite

  Chapter 17 Invitation

The moon was in the middle of the sky, Colin made arrangements for the future, and went back to the house to rest.

   Another week passed.

  In the stone house.

Colin sat on the edge of the bed, raised his left hand, then held the knight sword lying on the side with his right hand, and tentatively cut his left palm.

The metal sword edge brushed against the palm, but it was unscathed!

He pressed the tip of the sword against his palm, gradually increasing his strength, and the skin of his palm continued to sag.

It wasn't until the strength of an ordinary adult man increased that Colin felt a slight tingle.

He stopped trying, closed his eyes and felt the life energy in his body that was completely different from magic power.

Just now, he successfully broke through to the Grand Knight.

The life seeds in the body first shattered into surging blood energy, which spontaneously circulated in the body to transform the body.

This process lasted for two hours.

During this period, he not only coughed up a large pool of black and yellow thick phlegm, pulled a lot of indescribable filth, but also sweated a lot of impurities, and his skin peeled off!

Then, the surging blood gathered in the chest again.

Since then, blood can move with his heart, and he also has a new ability—blood armor.

When the blood gas covers the skin, it will form an invisible armor.

After trying a few times, Colin roughly figured out the strength of the blood armor.

It is roughly equivalent to wearing a layer of cowhide armor, which is weaker than the witchcraft steel armor in protecting against physical attacks, but has a certain ability to resist mental attacks.

   Overall not bad.

Of course, what makes him most happy is the increase in life span after the breakthrough.

The solar breathing method tends to increase energy, and energy is naturally inseparable from vitality. He speculated that he should belong to the part that increases lifespan the most.

According to the general age range of the great knight 130~150 years old, he can live to at least 145 years old now.

145 years is a very long time. If it is placed on a short-lived person, they may have been reincarnated three times.

Just as Colin was lying on the bed, temporarily relaxing and thinking, there was a sudden knock on the door.

"who?"

Colin straightened up, walked to the door and asked.

   "It's me, Charlie."

   A familiar voice came.

Colin was a little surprised. After he refused Charlie's offer last time, Charlie said he would come to him in the future.

But in fact, he never saw Charlie after that... He thought Charlie gave up trying to recruit him.

Colin pondered for a moment, and opened the door.

Charlie was standing outside smiling, with Owen and Heywood still beside him.

"Long time no see, Charlie. What can I do for you?" Colin asked calmly.

"Long time no see, Colin." Charlie greeted with a gentle tone, "It's been so long, have you considered it?"

Without waiting for Colin to answer, he continued to say while taking the invitation from Owen behind him:

"Don't worry about answering me, I know you still have some doubts about what I said before."

He stuffed the invitation into Colin's hands.

"At eight o'clock tomorrow night, the rest of the people who have not joined the mutual aid association will come."

"When the time comes, I will produce definite evidence to prove to you what I said."

He tapped Colin on the shoulder.

"After you have seen the evidence, tell me what you think."

After speaking, he left without delay, as if he was going to the next apprentice.

The figures of the three gradually disappeared into the distance.

Colin closed the door, looked at the brown invitation in his hand, and after a moment of thought, shook his head, lit it casually, and threw it into the nearby kitchen stove.

Although he was curious about the evidence Charlie said, he would not take the risk.

The evening of the next day.

Inside a residence in Black Rock City.

Charlie was sitting in the main seat. He looked towards Owen standing at the door and asked with his eyes.

"No one is coming." Owen shook his head, frowning on his thin face.

"Close the door." Charlie ordered blankly.

The heavy wooden door creaked shut, and Charlie glanced back at the five apprentices in front of him.

"Where's the evidence you said, Charlie?" One of the male apprentices was the first to ask, with his hands folded over his chest, his tone a little impatient.

Charlie invited them here, but he didn't say a word, and he didn't know what medicine he was selling!

Charlie didn't answer, but got up and walked to the wall behind him, and respectfully opened a secret door.

A middle-aged man in a black robe walked out of the shadows slowly.

"Good job, Charlie." He said lightly, while waving his right hand, an invisible barrier wrapped the entire house.

The male apprentice no longer looked impatient, and the voice of questioning stopped abruptly.

Even a fool can see that something is wrong at this time!

"How dare you, Charlie!?" Another female apprentice couldn't help shouting.

Another male apprentice decisively began to cast spells.

The middle-aged wizard chuckled, stopped, and looked quietly at the apprentice who was casting the spell.

After a few seconds, a cloud of magic power gathered in the hands of the male apprentice, but then dissipated suddenly.

   Charlie winked.

Heywood, who had been waiting by the side for a long time, quickly stepped forward and held down the male apprentice after receiving the signal.

The strength of the male apprentice junior knight was completely helpless under his hands.

"Stop making unnecessary struggles, it is impossible for you to release witchcraft here." Charlie looked at the other apprentices and reminded lightly.

"Don't hurt each other's lives, this is the school's rule! Aren't you afraid of being blamed by the school?! Charlie!" The male apprentice who was pressed on the brown table shouted.

Charlie ignored it, turned around and respectfully took a piece of brown animal skin paper from the middle-aged wizard, walked towards the male apprentice and whispered expressionlessly:

"Don't worry, none of you will die, and the school... will not find out."

The apprentices all paled. With their identities of the Lapp School, they never thought that one day they would encounter danger on the island.

Even if they have a month to go before being kicked out of school.

Now, some people on the island dare to challenge the authority of the school...

   Half an hour later.

"...Then I'll go back to the school first, my lord." Charlie said respectfully.

Heywood, Owen and the other apprentices were standing silently behind him.

"Go." The middle-aged wizard calmly ordered, "I remember you said that there is still an apprentice who has not been dealt with..."

"Within two days, my lord, within two days I will definitely finish him." Charlie said in a deep voice, "According to me, even if he doesn't believe it in his heart, he will leave some traces."

"Although... I don't know why, he didn't come this time and didn't give me a chance to show the evidence.

But now all the apprentices except him have joined the fraternity. Believe me, as long as I bring other apprentices to invite him, I will be successful in one fell swoop! "

"After all, joining Mutual Aid will do him no harm. He has no reason not to join!"

"Well... you go back, remember not to show your feet."

"Also, get ready, after a week, I will help you advance."

   "Yes, my lord!"

Charlie replied respectfully again, with a flash of joy in his eyes.
