A day at Hogwarts

Chapter 22 The Centaur's Brother

As night fell, the centaurs held a banquet in the square in the middle of the tribe to thank Charles for saving Twilight.

The recipes of the horsemen are far beyond Charles' imagination. The table has collected fruits, roasted mushrooms, and boiled edible leaves. To his surprise, there are boiled eggs!

Only adult centaurs who work as guards and hunters can eat eggs, older children like Twilight who work as gatherers can only eat eggs if they work a lot.

They also had wine made from fruit. Charles stopped drinking it after a sip. There were too many impurities, and he would definitely have a headache the next day.

So he took out the happy water he had in stock from his bag.

At first, the Grand Elder, Ronan, and Twilight looked at the bubbling liquid in the cup and thought it was some kind of potion, and after taking a sip, the scene got a little out of control.

After drinking a glass of happy water, Ronan lay down on the table and howled loudly. It would be great if the child he killed could drink such a delicious drink.

Twilight took a sip, then ran off to share it with the other kids.

As for the Great Elder, he was already dancing there, thanking the stars for the delicious food.

When Twilight came to ask if he had any more, Charles released his entire inventory to share with the other centaurs.

A bearded man named Bane came over and patted Charles on the shoulder after finishing two bottles of happy water and said, whoever bullies my brother you in Hogwarts in the future, bring him to the Forbidden Forest, I will let him have no good fruit to eat!

Ronan came over and asked if he could name his next child Charles.

Finally the Great Elder announced that Charles is our two-legged brother!

Charles was a little scared seeing this situation, but he didn't expect the horsemen to be so crazy about happy water.

After the whole tribe calmed down, everyone continued to eat.

Charles found that in the end all the remaining happy water was taken by adult centaurs like Ronan and Bane.

The Great Elder roasted mushrooms in that mouthful of happy water, and at the same time said to Charles: "Sweetness represents strength, and only those who have strength can survive. In the Forbidden Forest, the only sweet things are some fruits and honey, which are very precious."

Charles was also eating roasted mushrooms, and after hearing what he said, he said: "Grand Elder, I don't know much about your traditions and customs. If I have said something wrong, please point it out, and I will correct it."

The great elder nodded.

Charles asked him after deliberation: "Are you doing trade with...Hogwarts, such as exchanging herbs for some sweet sugar?"

The elder said slowly: "I understand what you mean. We only exchange supplies with trusted friends, just like Dumbledore and Hagrid. If you have something, you can also exchange it with us."

Charles asked again: "What if those supplies are made by Muggles?"

The elder replied: "Muggles and wizards have two legs."

Charles understands that the horse people should have their own stubborn traditions and customs. I am afraid that the pressure of survival makes their bottom line flexible.

Like the new brother Bane across the way and Ronan next to him, the dudes in Charles' "memory" were furious because Firenze let Harry sit on his back, and now it's possible to get more strength-replenishing Sweet water is silent.

Charles thought so too. The hatred of killing one's father and eating one's son is enough to make human beings pay a lot. Why not make the bottom line flexible for the horsemen.

He thought for a while and asked, "What supplies do you need most now?"

The Great Elder replied: "Sweet and salty, it's better to have something to eat."

Bane immediately went on to say, "It's better to have sharp arrows."

Ronan nodded.

Charles thought about it. It was not difficult to purchase food. Arrowheads and even whole arrows could be customized. The problem was transportation.

Although you can ask the old man for help, Dumbledore must know about it. If the old man's identity is revealed, Voldemort will bring two catties of fruit and a can of tea to No. 3 Privet Drive every year and festival.

Charles deliberated, and finally decided to find a solution with Dumbledore, who told him to be wild.

He thought of another question, and asked cautiously: "Tell me, do you grow food?"

Judging from the dining table, the horse people should have chickens, but other food is collected.

Bain frowned, held back his anger, and said unhappily, "We won't plow the land like mules!"

"Sorry, I was rude." Charles immediately apologized sincerely, and at the same time figured out their thunder point.

The horse people do not want others to treat them as livestock like mules, so they refuse to carry things, plow the fields and other work.

This is likely because they were previously enslaved by wizards as livestock, so they are sensitive to such things.

"What if the land is not cultivated?" Charles asked cautiously, "For example, the pumpkin seeds were thrown on the ground as garbage in spring, and a ripe pumpkin happened to be found in autumn."

Now not only Bain, but also Ronan, the First Elder, and the centaur next to him were stunned. Mules couldn't do things like throwing things around.

Charles let them digest the matter internally, and said, "I can provide you with sugar and salt, what do you want for the staple food?"

The Great Elder said: "We want oats, and it is best to have a little olive oil. It would be even better if we could have some axes, saws, hammers, nails and pots."

Charles wrote them down one by one, and then said, "I'll bring some samples over in a while, and everyone can see which ones are suitable."

At this time, the Great Elder said: "Thank you very much, you can take the herbs in our warehouse as you like."

Charles smiled and said, "You're welcome, we're a family."

"I have something to ask."

Here he saw a lot of luminous plants that were not in his "memory". There was a kind of epiphyllum, which closed its petals during the day and gave off red light when it bloomed at night. There is also a kind of clusters of flowers, like clusters of stars.

There are more others, with many colors, planted in front of the house and used as street lights, and some planted in wooden flower pots can be taken home.

He asked the elder if he could take it back and plant it. The elder said that you have to say as much as you want, and then let the ponies dig it back.

Charles was delighted, and decided it would be interesting to get some back and grow his own field when he had time.

It's just that the great elder drank the happy water while talking, and forgot to say what to do if the "dragon fruit" fruited.

The horse people have no night life, and they go back to their homes after dinner.

"Huh?" Charles was taken aback, "I'm going to live at Twilight's house?"

Ronan said as a matter of course: "Yes, she is the only one in her family, and she has a place."

Charles asked, "Can I come to your house?"

"No." It was Bane who answered, "Now Ronan will be busy making foals at night."

Charles scratched his head and said, "But Twilight is a girl."

The other centaurs were stunned for a moment, and then burst out laughing.

A centaur uncle asked him: "How many legs do you have?"

Charles held up two fingers.

Uncle Centaur said with a smile: "Your legs are different from ours, so why worry about it? Would you humans use sheep with more legs than yours and fish with no legs?"

Charles was silent.

The simple horse people were deeply shocked.
