Chapter 437: 14. Take it all

Chapter 437 Fourteen. Take it all

No matter how safe a slum may boast, it is a more sinister and dark place than any other.

The last time Lu Li experienced this scene was also in the slum, but the looters changed from three children to two youths.

And one thing is the same.

"You guys don't look like hooligans."

Lu Li took out the shillings in his coat pocket, in addition to the deposit from the Jimmy brothers and sisters, and several hundred shillings he carried with him.

Mike craned his neck and looked at it, his expression moved, while Virgil stood by and waited honestly - he even lost the stick because he was afraid of Lu Li's misunderstanding.

Mike finally didn't ask for more money, he stepped forward to the carriage and took the 20 shillings from Lu Li, flicked it lightly, whistled and said, "Of course we are not, thank you for your generosity, sir. Have a nice afternoon."

   "Virgil, let's go."

Mike didn't relax as he imagined, worried that Lu Li would come back to find trouble. He burrowed into a dark alley not far away in the voice of Virgil muttering, "We should remember his name and repay him when we make a fortune in the future..." .

  …

"Repay? What a joke, do you still want to come back here?"

Walking into the dark alley, Mike put away the 20 shillings he had stolen, and threw away the wooden stick: "Give it up, this place is about to be occupied by monsters, only the Lennon Islands are safe."

"What do we do now? Continue to rob passers-by?" Virgil asked hesitantly.

"With you?" Mike shouted deliberately in a pompous and mocking tone: "I thought we were homeless kids on the street, begging for money from well-meaning people everywhere."

"Where do we go to make money to redeem the ticket?"

Mike stretched out the 20 shillings, narrowed his eyes and said, "Of course it's where you earn where you lose."

"You're going to gamble again!" Virgil shouted, going around to the front of the alley to block Mike's way. "You lost our ticket and all our money!"

"That's why we have to make money and tickets back!"

Mike raised a finger, licked his lips and said, "Look, we only have this one chance. Not everyone is as generous and talkative as the gentleman just now. Who knows what's going to happen to the next target, I don't want to be ripped off at this time. Those hounds are going to the police station to die, I don't think you want to be doing something bad? Man, look over there! The wealth and beauty of the Lennon Islands are waiting for us!"

Virgil looked in the direction Mike was pointing, but outside the alley there was only a dilapidated street with sewage flowing through it.

"I didn't see anything," said Virgil.

Mike lost his last patience and pulled Virgil away forcefully: "If you regret it, get out of the way, I'll go by myself!"

Virgil was leaning against the wall, and Mike walked out of the way out of the alley.

He was so angry that he decided to ignore the pig-like Virgil again.

"You have soiled my clothes, which were woven by your mother herself."

Virgil's simple and honest muttering came from behind him.

Mike, who was about to reach the alley, had no choice but to stop, turned his head and poked Virgil's chest and said, "Don't speak without my permission. I don't want others to think we are stupid."

   "Not even a word?"

   "Yes! Not even a word!"

With Virgil, who finally calmed down, Mike returned to the slum called "Li District" by the locals.

Standing in the Black Mamba Casino, Mike took a deep breath and walked into the noisy casino full of sweat and sour smell while facing the playful eyes of the two strong men in front of the door.

"Just play something for you, don't disturb me."

In exchange for 4 chips, Mike gave Virgil one and pushed him away, ducking into the crowd to avoid following.

He lingered in front of the gaming table, and all three chips made him afraid to make up his mind. Finally, he stopped in front of a dice table and put his entire fortune at 15 shillings.

  Wowla-wowla-

The dice in the dice box began to shake, flipping up and down. Mike stared at the shaking dice box, and kept thinking "big" in his heart.

Snapped!

The    dice box fell on the table where a piece of chips, shillings and jewelry were piled up. A dozen or so eyes were staring at it, and the dice box was opened.

An annoyed sigh and excited cheers sounded at the same time.

It is small……

Lost and lost, Mike stared at the table and the dice, not knowing what to do.

At this moment, there was a sudden burst of exclamations at the gaming table next door.

Mike stared blankly, and vaguely heard that someone foolishly chose the maximum 18 points, and the result was just right.

Mike knew he was dreaming, but he did fantasize that it was Virgil who did it, squeezing to the next gaming table like a life-saving straw.

He saw Virgil surrounded at the very center.

   is actually true!

Mike squeezed the crowd away, excitedly stopped Virgil on the shoulder and shouted to the surrounding gambler guests: "He is my brother, this is my brother!"

He shook Virgil vigorously and shouted excitedly: "Why don't you talk? My God, you can talk to Virgil! We've made a fortune! We're going to the Lennon Islands!!!"

Looking at the gaming table, there are at least thousands of shillings and gold and silver jewelry piled up on it. More than just redeeming the tickets, they can earn thousands of shillings more!

Outside the center of the hustle and bustle, in the shadows of the corners, two silhouettes looked this way.

In the dimness, the pipe flickered with alternating light and dark fire.

"They are very good-looking, aren't they from here?" A low voice sounded.

"Like the stranger who passed by recently." Another voice replied.

"Black Mamba money is not allowed to be taken out of here."

"I know."

One of the figures walked out of the shadows, leaving only the light of the slowly lit pipe.

On the other side, excited Mike and Virgil redeemed their tickets and planned to leave the casino with their valuable booty.

If met that generous gentleman, Mike considered giving him 40 shillings back and said proudly: "Double payment."

But everything ended when they were about to walk out of the casino when they were stopped by a few strong men.

A strong smell of blood wafted from the bald man at the front.

It's not some kind of gut feeling, but the smell of their dirty, blood-stained vests.

Michael stopped the silly Virgil, looked at them vigilantly, and deliberately said loudly in a voice that everyone around could hear: "What are you doing! The guests who won the money are not allowed to leave?!"

The surrounding noise subsided, all passengers looked to this side, and consciously made a circle of space.

"It's just that a guest said he saw your brother steal the chips, we want to confirm." The bald man replied lazily.

Mike breathed a sigh of relief: "The chips? Of course we didn't steal the chips."

But he was a little hesitant in his heart.

That idiot Virgil did this, if he really stole the casino chips this time...

   Damn idiot!

   Mike cursed in his heart.
