Hogwarts: Wizards Supreme

Chapter 15 Mirror of Erised

On Christmas night, Brian came to the library again.

He cast a silent spell on himself so that he would not be easily discovered by Filch.

At night at Hogwarts, everything is sleeping in the dark, making it like a mysterious castle in the mountains. People can't help but imagine that something weird will pop up in a corner of it.

Just when Brian was about to search around, he heard a blood-curdling scream coming from the library, which made people feel numb.

"Oops." Brian whispered to himself, found a direction, turned around and ran away.

Unexpectedly, the timing was perfect, and Harry also slipped into the forbidden book area wearing the invisibility cloak at this time. He would definitely lure Filch over.

Brian didn't care to search for traces of Harry. He walked around the complicated corridors of the castle a few times to make sure that he had not been discovered by Filch or Mrs. Norris, and then stopped.

He calmed down his breathing that was quickened by running, and realizing that he was a little stupid, he turned around and walked towards the Slytherin common room.

He planned to go out and search again during the day tomorrow. Then he would have more time to find the mirror without having to be so cautious about being caught by Filch.

Just wish Dumbledore wouldn't put the mirror away during the day.

The next day, after Brian had a quick breakfast, he searched the castle again.

God knows, it took him a whole day to find the mirror at night, and he didn't even have time to eat dinner.

The Mirror of Erised was hidden in a very remote room. The corridor where the room was located was so narrow that no one would even notice it, and it was blocked by a tall suit of armor in front of it. What's more, the door to that room was locked during the day and was so inconspicuous that Brian ignored it several times.

Brian was angry for no reason, because he remembered that in the original book, the door was left open for him when Harry came. Later, Harry came twice more, but it was not locked.

"Open the Alaho hole." He took out his wand and clicked on the door lock, causing the door lock to click open.

Inside is a room similar to a utility room, with some tables, chairs and sundries piled randomly, covered with a thick layer of dust. There was only a clean and smooth mirror on the wall facing the door.

It has a gorgeous gold frame that reaches to the ceiling, supported by two claw-like stands.

"Fluorescence." Brian chanted the spell, and the tip of the wand lit up with a soft light, illuminating the magic mirror. It has a line of words engraved on the top: Eris Stella Ohelu Aitwubi Kafulu Aitian Voorhees. This should be its full name.

"The Mirror of Erised," Brian murmured to himself, "The Mirror of Desire."

It allows people to see the truest desires deep in their hearts.

Brian lifted his foot, then put it down again. At this time, he felt a little flinched.

He was afraid of seeing his own heart clearly, and even more afraid that it would never be realized.

The fluorescence on the top of the wand gradually went out, and Brian stood quietly in the darkness, like a lonely and silent sculpture.

After a long time, Brian moved his hands and feet and stepped forward stiffly, letting his body appear in the mirror.

His figure was reflected in the mirror. It was just him, with no other changes or additions.

Brian stared blankly at himself in the magic mirror, feeling a little lost.

It is said that the happiest people in the world can use the Mirror of Erised as an ordinary mirror. But is Brian? Obviously not, he is unhappy.

"But why..." Brian stretched out his hand, as if he wanted to touch himself in the mirror.

He was smiling slightly in the mirror, his smile was quiet and gentle, very similar to his usual expression, but very different from his expression at this time.

Brian in the mirror said softly: "You are free, Brian."

"Freedom?" Brian paused, with a different light shining in his eyes.

Freedom, what a strange word that is.

Brian thought of his previous life, which was not exciting, even lackluster.

Before the age of five, he had a happy family. My father is a well-known entrepreneur in the city. He came from a poor family, started from scratch, and became a member of the upper class in one fell swoop. My mother is a gentle and capable wife. She always takes care of everything in life and work in an orderly manner, and takes some time every day to accompany his growth.

Until one day, a car accident took away everything, leaving only the five-year-old him.

His only remaining relatives were his parents, brothers and sisters, who divided the inheritance openly and kicked him around like a ball.

His growth consists of constantly moving around from house to house, experiencing the ups and downs of human relationships. In the eyes of his relatives, he was a "debt collector" and a "broom star", and he was looked down upon.

Later, he was sent to the countryside. He was always locked in a small room. He was given something to eat when someone remembered him, and he was hungry when no one remembered him. Fortunately, they allowed him to go to school in the countryside, and that was his happiest time.

After graduating from junior high school, his relatives refused to allow him to continue studying and even wanted to lock him up. He escaped and lived in a dirty shack. While working, he desperately learned all possible useful knowledge. He knew that knowledge can change destiny.

His life gradually improved and he embarked on the same path as his father. After many struggles and intrigues, his business started to bear fruit and his life gradually became clearer.

Relatives found him, but they could no longer influence his life.

He even plans to take back what belongs to him and teach those annoying guys a lesson.

However, just when he was about to move and start a new life worth looking forward to, he encountered a car accident on the way, ending like his father.

Such a ridiculous life is both ridiculous and sad.

Yes, how he had envied Harry Potter, their situations were so similar.

So he was deeply fascinated by it. On countless rainy nights with lightning and thunder, he shivered and huddled in the thin bed, longing for a big man to kick open his door and rescue him like a god. .

At that time, Hagrid must have been the embodiment of hope in Harry's eyes.

However, reality is always different from fairy tales.

Brian looked at himself in the mirror, with deep mockery and sadness in his eyes.

Brian looked at him gently in the mirror, like a wise man who knew everything. His eyes are as full of wisdom as Dumbledore, and they seem to hide endless mysteries that people can't help but explore.

He once thought that he would long for family affection, longing for friendship, longing for a happy family, or longing to return to the original world. But this is none of this. He is not a character in a fairy tale, and his desire is completely different from that of a savior.

He's like the opposite of Harry Potter.

"Freedom, I want freedom from being controlled by anyone." Brian looked deeply at himself in the mirror, "That requires infinite wisdom and strength as a guarantee, until even time cannot control me at will."

"So, I have been walking on the right path." Brian murmured to himself, his eyes darker, but no longer confused.

"Extraordinary wisdom is mankind's greatest wealth." Brian said with a low smile.

Therefore, he might be more suitable for Ravenclaw.

"What did you see, Mr. Foley?" a voice said behind him.

Brian stiffened and turned around.

Dumbledore stood behind him. He was wearing a casual robe, like a kind grandfather next door, and his eyes under half-moon glasses were shining brightly in the darkness.

"Ah, I see that I have become the most dazzling person in the world, just like you." Brian looked at Dumbledore and smiled.

"I am an old man who cannot live up to your praise, Mr. Foley. Perhaps you can be more frank." Dumbledore waved his wand, and the lights lit up in the room, and a table and two chairs floated next to it. They polish themselves to a shiny finish. A table of barbecue, sandwiches, desserts and pumpkin juice appeared on it.

"I think you haven't had dinner yet, and it's just past dinner time." Dumbledore blinked, "I think you don't mind making do with it here? I haven't eaten it yet, either. It’s too much for old bones.”

Brian thanked her sincerely and sat down at the table. The two of them ate dinner harmoniously like grandparents and grandchildren.

"Professor Dumbledore, when did you come here?" Brian asked.

"Ah, I put this magic mirror here for temporary storage. It is very important. Of course I will have some small arrangements." Dumbledore winked mischievously.

"It means I came here when I first found it." Brian chewed on his potential meaning.

The two of them didn't speak for a while, just eating their dinner quietly. Dumbledore was full of praise for the plate of honey lemon cake.

After dinner, Dumbledore said: "Mr. Foley, the Mirror of Erised reflects the most urgent and strongest desires in people's hearts. It is not static. There are still many things in this world that you need to experience and discover." "

He looked at the time and said, "Oh, you should go back. I don't think Mr. Filch will be too happy."

Brian savored Dumbledore's words and nodded.

At this time, the closed door suddenly opened.
