"I can agree to help in the assassination attempt as long as you can give me some death elemental treasures of at least the martial adept rank."

Dante had thought about it and decided to agree if he could get some death element treasures. Death element treasures were by far the rarest of any other elemental treasures.

Most elemental treasures come in the form of rare fruits of plants, but it was extremely difficult for a plant to grow when it was filled with dead elements, the very antithesis of life."

As princess Levina heard Dante's request, a look of struggle appeared on her face.

"Death element treasures are extremely rare. All treasures on the level you want would only be able to be retrieved from the Treasure vault of the royal family. Getting those things is a bit…"

As Dante heard those words, he snorted in displeasure

Getting those treasures is already his bottom line. If princess Levina couldn't even agree to it then she could forget about his cooperation.

"Levina, this is my bottom line."

As Levina heard this she looked towards Dante with her watery violet eyes she spoke.

"I can agree to nothing else you want…. Even if it's your fiancé."

But as Levina spoke her words were only met with a cold sneer

"Even if an angel came down from the heavens, it still wouldn't be able to convince me to change my mind. I need those treasures."

Seeing that seduction didn't work Levina gave up trying

"Tch! Little brother Dante, if you keep treating your fiancé like this she's going to end up feeling cold and unloved."

Dante didn't believe she meant the words she said and rolled his eyes at her words.

Eventually, Levina gave into Dante's demands and agreed to allow him to pick some death elemental treasures from the royal treasure vault, but Dante wasn't convinced yet.

He wasn't born yesterday and demanded that he receive the payment first before he did the task.

This only ended up annoying Princess Levina even more, but Dante didn't care.

He would rather create more enemies now than be cheated in the future.

If after he completed the Assassination, princess Levina decided not to pay him, then he would be completely helpless.

What could he do, complain?

If complained, then what was he supposed to say?

Hey! I was hired to assassinate a princess of the royal family, but after doing it I wasn't paid.

That would be the same as handing himself in and he would be sent to the gallows in a matter of minutes!

Eventually, after many minutes of arguing, Levina allowed Dante to come and pick up the elemental treasure tomorrow.

"Don't forget, if you're allowed to take this treasure, you can't try to play me and back out. I don't know if you noticed by now, but those who become my enemy never manage to live a good life. It would be a shame if you were to join that unfortunate list."

Not wanting to be intimidated by Princess Levina's threats, Dante just scoffed.

Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about yourself. This deal hinges on the fact that you can get me some death elemental treasures. If you can't then this deal is as good as over."

"Humph!"

After being annoyed by Dante's words for the last hour, princess Levina didn't even want to spend another second in his presence so without even saying goodbye she slipped out through the window, disappearing into the night as quickly as she had appeared.

As Dante watched princess Levina leave, he just shook his head and went back to cultivation, glowing in an almost holy silver light.

….

The next day Dante got up and after freshening up, he hopped into the carriage he always got in but this time instead of heading towards the academy He was headed for the royal palace.

After arriving at the gates and walking,  Dante was greeted with the presence of 4 royal guards, each wearing deep blue armour.

But as Dante walked over, expecting to be greeted with the rough, strict appearance he always received from guards, the royal guards actually greeted him quite enthusiastically.

"Haha! Greetings Lord Dragon son."

Dante was a bit taken aback by such a warm greeting, but after talking to them for a while, Dante soon got to the bottom of it.

The rumours spreading around in the capital seemed to be the culprit behind this.

In the stories, Dante appeared to be a selfless patriot who wouldn't hesitate to risk his life to save the common people, no matter how risky it was.

Such acts of selflessness and patriotism were enough to inspire admiration in any soldier, but who were these soldiers?

They were the royal guard, soldiers handpicked for their patriotism and loyalty to the Vaenam royal family.

These soldiers were the most patriotic members of the kingdom, so Dante's actions seemed more impressive.

And when added to the fact that he was already a prince consort, basically a pseudo royal, the favourable impression they had of him only soared higher.

"So lord Dragon Son, what brings you here today?" asked one of the guards

Dante was never one to put on airs, so when he was faced with such a pleasant and welcoming group, he would naturally reciprocate.

"I'm actually here today to meet with princess Levina." Said Dante

As Dante spoke, a set of knowing smiles appeared on the face of the guards as they looked at Dante with a look any man could understand.

Seeing this, Dante's mouth twitched, but he still knew that there would be no point in explaining this to them, so just left it as it was.

It was at that moment that there was a small commotion behind the gate as a beautiful figure with striking blue hair and dazzling purple eyes appeared.

The second the figure appeared, the casual and welcoming appearance they showed to Dante completely disappeared as they stood to perfect attention.
